  1. Hi Our vendor has installed 6 Nos. Almet Analog CCTV Cameras which are supposed to be 700 TVL However, there is no model number printed on the body of the camera The box and packing has unfortunately been discarded The recording for the cameras is being done on a DVR with all 16 channels D1 recording capability Is there any method by seeing the size of the recorded file or any other method to ascertain whether we have actually been supplied with 700 TVL Cameras ? If it can be done through the size of the recorded file, then what should be the size of the 30 minute recording. Thanks for advising
  2. Hi We wish to setup a 64 cameras 720P IP based CCTV system The cameras will be installed in 6 buildings, each having 6 floors. 2 cameras will be installed on each floor The Buildings are 50m apart in a straight line so the distance between the first and last building is 300 m We wish to record the feed from the cameras and also have live 24/7 display with monitoring which will be done in the first building only. The recording device can be kept at a central location also if required We wish to know the best way to achieve the above solution. We had thought of putting a switch on the 3rd floor of each building and connecting all the cameras in that building to that switch (To minimize cabling costs) and then interconnecting all the switch with cable and then ultimately take 1 cable to the viewing room wherein a PC decodes the feed and displays the images. The NAS or NVR for recording data can be placed in any location in any of the 6 buildings Is this a technically feasible and most cost effective solution or the members can recommend some other solution. Thanks for advising
  3. We have 6 Apartment blocks more or less placed in L shape. Each Block has 5 floors. and total 131 flats From the entrance to the farthest end the distance is nearly 300 metres The google map reference is 12.915782,77.576126 Any alternative suggestions using high powered equipments ? Thanks for advising
  4. We do not have any existing network I wanted your advise on how to make a wifi network for the same Thanks for advising
  5. Hi We want to put our 16 CCTV Camera system on wifi so that the owners can see the feeds from the cameras on their mobiles when within the complex. A 300 M Radius is all we require. The CCTV feeds are recorded in the DVR and then taken to a PC for display So we can install all the necessary cards or external equipment etc. in the PC to facilitate this. We do not want to use the internet as internet connections are very costly in India and have very low upload speeds Any suggestions ? Thanks for advising
  6. Hi We are installing a CCTV System with 16 analog 700 TVL cameras The feeds are recorded in a DVR and then fed to a PC from where the output will be taken for display The Security room is a 8' X 8' room What should be the ideal size of the TV for seeing the display ? The supervisor will see the thumbnail of all 16 channels usually and will blow up a picture as and when required We were thinking of going for a 32" LED TV. Is this decision correct considering the small size of the room ? Thanks for advising
  7. Thanks for the clarification One more thing. As I am attaching 2 DVRs LAN Cable to the same PC, would I be able to take the output of both the DVRs simultaneously from 2 DVI out sockets of the same graphic card to 2 different TVs or 1 single TV, as may be required ? DVR1 & DVR2 connected to PC 1 though LAN Cable PC1 output to LCD 1 & LCD 2 (images of DVR1 & DVR 2 Respectively) Thanks for advising
  8. Can I go for a I5 355K CPU with 8GB DDR3 RAM ? Also will a 7850 suffice or should I go for a 7870 GPU or both are an overkill and I can use a 7770 ? Thanks for advising
  9. Hi We are installing 32 Analog CCTV cameras in our complex for security purposes. The cameras are all 700 TVL day and night cameras The farthest distance of the cameras from our security room where we planned to keep the DVRs and do the live display was nearly 1000 feet, which was entailing a drop in video quality We are now proposing to keep the DVRs in 2 locations and attach the nearest 16 cameras to them so that the distance between the cameras and DVR will not exceed 300 feet The distance between the DVRs and the and the security room from where the DVRs will be controlled and where the live display will be done through a PC will be 600 feet and 300 feet respectively. I shall be grateful if you could give me the specifications of the PC we should go for so that we can remotely control both the DVRs and also simultaneously see the live feed of all 32 cameras on a 40" LED TV We are going for a AVTRON 16CH Video/16Ch Audio Stand Alone DVR, H.264 Compression, D1 in Preview, 16CH D1 with 25FPS, 4CH D1 & 16CIF Playback, 2HDD up to 2TB(4TB) or 1HDD & 1 SATA DVD-RW, HDMI/3G/WIFI, DDNS, CMS Software + Mobile Viewing Support, VGA, Monitor Please also advise if we need any other equipment between the DVR and the PC to maintain the signal strength and quality for display Thanks for advising
  10. We intend to bring the power for each camera back from the DVR using the same conduit pipe
  11. We are installing 32 cameras in our residential apartment complex. We are using a mix of day and night cameras made by Adisys We have to transmit the signals for most of the cameras to nearly 1000 feet where the DVR and the security room is located. We are planning to take signals of 4 cameras in 1 cable using Video Baluns I wanted your advise on the equipment to use which can ensure that the picture quality does not degrade in transmission and confirmation that 4 signals can be carried in single cable effectively and also the specs for the cable to be used The vendor is recommending the following equipments "Single channel Video Balun ( Pair ) " 04 Channel metal case passive video Transceiver (cable with Male BNC) plug in and out Thanks for advising
  12. Hi We are a residential complex in Bangalore India spread over 5 acres and having about 500 meters boundary wall We wish to place 16 CCTV Cameras in the vulnerable areas to monitor activities espacially at night As the security gate where the feed will be monitored is at an extreme end, the data feeds may have to travel nearly 250m also. We have been advised to use CP-BY70M-E cameras with 5-50 lens He has also suggested the following equipment along with the cameras He has suggested to bunch the feeds from 4 cameras to a single cable using the following equipments setup so that ultimately only 4 cables will reach the DVR/ Viewing screen so that quality of the picture does not degrade even after travelling long distance of 250m 4 Channel passive PVD,AC24V power transfer, AC100V~AC240V input, DC12V output PvLink PV-3204PH DC/AC 8 Channel passive PVD,AC24V power transfer,AC100V~ AC240V input, DC12V output PvLink PV-3208PHDC/ AC 1000M 16 Channel DSA receiver; Data transfe PvLink PV-2216RQDSA 1 Channel passive video transceiver with DC12V CCTV Analog Cameras & Connectivity 6 transceiver, power transfer Pvlink PV-208A/E 4 pair UTP cable (roll of 305 meter) AMPS CAT 6 16 Channels 1U Standlone DVR 16 channel entry level 1U standalone DVR, Up to 16 cameras with XGA(1280×1024) display, H.264 video compression algorithm ideal, Each channel 25/30fps at CIF or 6/7fps at D1 recording, Dual encoding streams supported, TV(BNC)/VGA synchronous video output, Supports 1 SATA HDD, 2 USB2.0  16 channel simultaneous playback CP Plus CP-1604HL-U As this is a community project, I hope the experienced members will give their valuable advice on the feasibility & the choice of the equipment or alternative suggestions Thanks for advising
  13. Hi We are a residential complex in Bangalore, India. We plan to install about 12 Cameras to monitor the boundary wall & basement parking areas. We shall be monitoring the feed continuously on a 32" LCD TV as well as recording the same. Most of the cameras will be installed about 500 cable metres away from the viewing & recording station. Some cameras will be in close proximity to each other, so the data can be transmitted over a single cable( If technically possible) Please advise what sort of cameras & cables we should look for so that we can have a visually clear (without data degradation) & a cost effective solution. Thanks for advising
