Hi guys, I got this cctv camera: EXELON GHN-A955 700 TVL Color Box Camera with 3D DNR, ICR, SENS-UP, DUAL power [edit by mod-store link removed] and I am wondering if I should buy this expensive lens for it Pentax C70403PS 1/3" CS Mount 4mm F2.0 Pinhole Lens with Auto Iris DC [edit by mod-store link removed] My goal is to achieve as good as possible low light videos with the setting pinhole lens + camera. I know that the camera should achieve these low lux capability: Min. Illumination 0.1Lux@F1.2 (Color mode) / 0.0003Lux (Sense up) the problem is that the pinhole lens I pointed u to buy is a F2.0 lens How much would I lose in lux using the F2.0 lens ? There are F1.0 pinhole lenses, but they are NOT auto iris...I need an auto iris lens so that I can get videos under every light conditions. Any suggestion please ? Also the lens above is CS, many other cameras are C compatible. Would be a problem later on to use the lens above that is a cs mount to c mount cctv cameras ? I know there are CS to C adapters, but will they giving vignetting on 1/3" sensors ? I think the lens above is good for 1/3" sensors only... Thank you so much cctvguy is offline Reply With Quote

Hello guys, I need some help please. I am a scientist and we are trying to run an experiment in a chamber to which we go from bright light (sunlight) to night time (moon light). The chamber is sealed , so I would like to record the experiment trough a tiny hole to make in the chamber, that is why I would like to use pinhole lenses. I need some suggestion on which camera to use for having better videos in low ligh in the highest video resolution possible using pinhole lenses . I have 2 options: A) Buy a surveillance camera that can mount a c/cs pinhole lens. For example I was thinking of these 2 solutions: 1) GHN-A955 and use with it a F.2.0 c/cs mount pinhole lens http://www.exelontech.com/product/product.php?prod_id=196&c=SDVVYVExVFBSWjFSR1pVWk9aa2FXbFhPRmQxVE9aRlZYQkhia1psU0VWbWRzRmpWVHBGTVdsRmV0WmxWU1pVVDFVVk1TTlhPclYxTXhRRlU= or a 2) Vitek VTC-C770WS and use with it a F.2.0 c/cs mount pinhole lens [edit by mod- store link removed] or [edit by mod- store link removed] Problem with the above solutions is that the cameras are standard definition (not high definition cameras) and that using F2.0 pinhole lens, I will degrade the low light ability of the surveillance camera... B) The other solution could be to buy directly a pinhole camera ike the one below 1) just buy a pinhole camera like this: [edit by mod- store link removed] http://www.ktnc.co.kr/english/viewtopic.php?t=948 http://www.ktnc.co.kr/english/viewtopic.php?t=645 http://www.ktnc.co.kr/english/viewtopic.php?t=951 http://www.ktnc.co.kr/english/viewtopic.php?t=950 The problem with this solution, is that personally I think that security cameras are better in video quality than little tiny pinholes.. What do you think ? Could u please suggest me which of the 2 methods would you use to have the best video resolution possible at low light levels using a pinhole format ? Thank you

What about cameras like these ? http://www.rmassa.com/manu/sony.htm I am talking about scientific/industrial cameras that are firewire.... Thank you -
Hello guys, I am trying to build : a full HD Video recorder system (for recording a scientific experiment, through a pinhole hole, that is going to happen in a confined environment) that: 1) is as I said, Full HD 30p or 60p 2) compatible with C or CS mount pinhole lenses 3) has a firewire or HDMI video output 4) can reach 0.xx lux (it does NOT matter if it switches to B&W to reach this low lux) 5) Record videos in Color 6) The idea is to buy a firewire or hdmi portable video recorder and connect this camera to it to record videos in 1080p or 1080i (at 25 Mbps) 7) the more compact, the better, but this is NOT a priority. NTSC 10) example of pinhole lenses are these : [edit by mod-store link removed] but any pinhole lens compatible with the camera you suggest is fine. but any pinhole lens compatible with the camera you suggest is fine. Thank you

Any good analogic or digital CCTV that can handle low light?
marcolisi posted a topic in Security Cameras
Hello guys, I need some help please. I am trying to find the best cctv camera that can mount a CS lens on it. I am puzzled between an analogic cctv camera ot a digital one. I am trying to find one that has a great sensitivity under low light conditions ( 0.000x if possible), even automatically switching to B&W, but that can mainly record videos in color. If I could get under 0.0x in color I would be happy.... Another thing is that : will the CCTV digital or analogic, have the image stabilization system. I need some analogic CCTV or Digital CCTV that can compare in quality to a 1300 dollars digitla camcorder but the advantage of the CCTV of seeing under low light conditions (0.00x) Any help please ? Thank you -
