  1. It switched over to night mode, finally and it's looks like daytime with just the street light, no other light. Also, you can change the write interval in the advanced setup under recording group, it's set to 300 which confirms that it creates 5 minute long files.
  2. Just started recording, we will see if it's still recording after 12 hours. How did you know it stopped recording? Under recordings, did it say it stopped or just stopped growing files on the NAS? Was there a message in the system log that it stopped? I tried playing one of the files and said unsupporrted format which is weird because the event recordings on the SD card record fine. For what it's worth, each file contains 5 minutes of video.
  3. Do you have the P33 set to delete after 1 day (I believe that was the default). How long are you trying to continously record before it stops recording. I'm trying to clear my NAS now but it's soooo slow to delete all the files. I may have 100GB free soon.
  4. They send them to me for free, but I either have to buy them or send them back after about a month or so. The only one we've bought was the Q6035E. I like to keep some as it helps answer ongoing questions people have but I only have so much room and as it is I have 4 cameras that came at once from Axis, besides the P33, a P13, M1014 and M5014. The coolest one is the M5014, a mini PTZ dome and the pan/tilt is so fast, faster than a Q60 ($4K PTZ) and the zoom is about 3X digital but works pretty well. Looks like a mini 5" flying saucer on my desk. Just plugged it in for the first time like an hour ago. Would be a cool camera to put say in your living room and be able to look around the room like front door, windows and such remotely. It's an indoor camera but looks well sealed, IP51 and may work well under an eave that's protected in a temperate climate. Also, the firmware I have says RELEASE="5.40.9.2"
  5. If nobody answers your question by the weekend, I'll try and remember and test that for you.

    Axis P3364-VE Review

Cool. I have the predessor, actually just got it from Axis, the P3343 and actually, the low light capabilities are about the same, albeit it's an 800x600 pixel camera, not 720P. I'm still waiting for the 1MP model with the built in IR illuminators but reality is, if you have a porch light on like you do, it works quite well without it. Did you set the max shutter speed? I found the default out of the box to be 1/6th which is too long for any motion.
  7. I just got one in for testing, but it may be a few days before I get to it to see if mine does the same thing. I would just open a problem ticket on their website. They are very good at getting back to you within 24 hours. Just make sure you attached the camera server report and system logs. Click on Setup --> System Options --> Download Server Report & System Log. Once someone is assigned to you, they are quick. They waited so long to send me a P33, it became obsolete , it's the P3343 and the P3363 replaces it but actually works quite well in low light even without lightfinder. Maybe a good comparison for when they send me the new P33 with IR illuminators.
  8. Yes, I had 6 1.3MP cameras on an Atom processor nettop and it worked fine.
  9. Nah, why would anyone post images in this forum for non-IP cameras when there's a perfectly good HD-SDI forum for that. So nope, I'm saying it can't possibly be HD-SDI or the moderator would have moved it to it's proper place.
  10. Nah, just wanted to see how far I can take it, like you trying to see how long you can string us along before you tell us what you are up to.
  11. Thewire takes a picture of his TV, posts it here with no other information, my only assumption is he's showing off his TV or the camera that took the picture of the TV. If I posted a picture of my car with no other information, would I really expect you guess what brand camera it has, what brand camera I used to take the picture of the car or what brand of oil do I use? But if I was a guessing man, I would say the camera used to take the picture of the TV is a also a Samsung as thewire appears to be very brand loyal, possibly a Galaxy Nexus. Nah, I just looked at the picture metadata. There, I solved the mystery, the camera used to take the picture and what's in the picture.
  12. Been using mine since I reviewed it in February. Wish it had an SD card slot like it's brother, the AVN80X. When do you think they'll come out with some new cameras? Would love to see an 1080P PoE outdoors camera from them, a good competitor to Dahua. Also, found that NVR+ software works really well with AVTech and also supports Dahua cameras. I don't like Dahua's indoor camera offerings, and not seen AVTech's outdoor PoE capabilities, so it's good that there's NVR software that supports both.
  13. It's Samsung, I recognize those TV's anywhere, usually by the word Samsung across the bottom. No, it is not Image is on Samsung monitor That all it's has to do with Samsung Yes, it's a Samsung TV, what else are you talking about? Frankly, not a Samsung TV fan, their 3D sets require active glasses. I prefer LG or Vizio that use passive 3D.

    ISC East

Shake and bake baby. As for wild fires, haven't seen any downtown San Diego, unless you are referring to the partying going on at all the clubs. Imagine if there was a fire and it burnt down all 3 trees on my block, where would my dogs pee?
  16. What's going on with ISC East tomorrow? With subways and airports shut down, will they cancel it or keep it going for the 2 people that can attend. I don't know why they hold trade shows in places that have weather issues. Bring it to San Diego for the ISC East and Santa Clara for ISC West.

    Recording with PSS

Axxon is a CPU pig and I would imagine once you reach 100% CPU, something has to give, so check your recordings to make sure you are getting what you think.
  18. I left all the ports stock and use it with my Android UG802 mini PC and it works fine. If you want to use it externally like with your phone's 3g/4g network, then you need to assign unique port numbers to each camera.
  19. I'm using a PC with a 1st gen i3 processor, 2gb ram, Win 7 32 bit, 6 cameras, records full time or event recording. Open a support ticket at www.acti.com.

    Dahua cameras now at Costco

There's 3 ports you have to open, the http port, the rtsp port and the tcp port. Works find for me remotely via IE or IP Cam Viewer on my Droid Razr.

    ISC East

Then it's weird that I'm getting email today to attend.

I did a review on the UG802 Android Mini PC with IP CamViewer and worked well with Dahua/Q-See cameras.

    Recording with PSS

I had continuous recording setup on my ACTi NVR software and with 6 cameras, mostly 1.3MP except one 2MP and mostly low frame rates, from 8-15, I was able to get 3 days of recordings on 2 1TB drives. So you think you have plenty of space, but it goes quickly.
  24. I'm waiting for the LED version of the Axis P33 as it will be revolutionary for Axis who's stayed away from built in LEDs in the past. It should be ready in nov/dec timeframe. For now, I would stick with ACTi because it has the IR built in and double the resolution. Also, ACTi has a low light 1080P dome using the same sensor as the KCM-5611 coming out in the same time frame as the Axis and that would be a fairer comparison and hopefully I will be able to do them side by side. As for the brands, both make great cameras and not so great cameras, both have good service & support and online resources for self help, both have broad support among 3rd pary NVR and software providers, don't think you can go wrong with either brand. I'm totally neutral on this as I have both brands but not in the same home. Ironically, neigther brand is what I've used in commercial situations and when you want the best, look at the Mobotix D14 DNIGHT, awesome camera, more reliable than anything I've experienced from the other 2 vendors and fantastic low light performance.
  25. You have to get their cameras with IR cut filters like the IPC-HFW3200C andIPC-HFW2100. They have a 3mp vandal dome with an IR cut filter and no IR that may be good to use with what you proposed. If you have motion detect lights together with IR it's better than without IR because the pre-event frames will be lit and the frames during the event may be OK or washed out depending on how fast the camera can respond to the light change but the change won't be as dramatic as no light to full light, so it may work out well.
