    Empire Security RMA? (SOLVED)

How many cameras have you bought from them? How many have you RMA'ed?

    Empire Security RMA? (SOLVED)

No bone to pick, just had a bad experience with them shipping the wrong camera model and still waiting, 4 months later for them to ship the correct model. Also spoke to someone that had a problem like yours with their camera and they blamed them for breaking it and wouldn't warranty the camera. Seriously, do a credit card chargeback.

    Empire Security RMA? (SOLVED)

Not the best people to get this from. If you paid by credit card, start a charge back complaint, that will get them moving.
  4. Don't know how you can go wrong with any of these, Tenvis, Foscam, some of the best cameras out there since Mattel stopped making the Barbie cam. At one time, long, long ago, I started here too, so I shouldn't make fun. Luckily they didn't last that long, a few months and I was able to get something decent.

    Avigilon vs Dahua

I do suppose you meant someone else?! Yes, the forum changed the name to Dahua, but it's another small reseller of Dahua products in the U.S. selling under their own brand name and carrying a very limited product line.

    Avigilon vs Dahua

I believe the official distributor of Dahua in the U.S. is Q-See and it's sold through at least one channel distributor, Ingram Micro. Q-See does provide end user support and has actually been pretty aggressive on a recent issue I had with one of their cameras and may even be more responsive than Axis. The problem I see with them is they are very limited in which models they bring in and Ingram is the biggest PITA distributor I dealt with. I used to like them 10 years ago, they were on the ball, but now they look for ways to not do business with you as they have grown too large. I don't even know where small guys like Empire or . fit in and even if they are official channels for Dahua cameras buying directly from Dahua or from distributors in other countries.

    Vegas Baby, can't wait.

    Avigilon vs Sony?

    No, not really.

    Avigilon vs Dahua

Cool, less walking, can see the two most discussed products side by side. Are you coming to Vegas next week?

    Avigilon vs Foscam?

Does Avigilon have any cameras at any price that can do what a Foscam FI8908-W can do? A WiFi, Pan/Tilt camera with built in IR LEDs? I don't think so. Score one for Foscam.

That funny LOL What the heck, I'll going in " title="Applause" />

    Avigilon vs Dahua

Absolutely not, paid the same for my Audi as a new Ford Mustang Convertible costs.
  13. It's not meant to be their low light champ, for that they have the E44 which I ordered, but haven't received yet. The new ACTi "I" series will have 3 and 5MP bullets that stress low light performance but not until maybe 4th quarter. Maybe they'll have prototypes at ISC next week.

    Avigilon vs Dahua

Are you saying that Avigilon commands a price premium over Dahua and if so, why?

    Avigilon vs Dahua

What you are saying, is Hikvision is the best camera then because how can it be bad if they sold $819m worth? That explains why McDonalds is the best restaurant in the world. At least it answers the OP's question, Dahua is nearly 6 times better than Avigilon. But if you factor in camera prices, then Dahua probably sold 18 times more cameras than Avigilon, making them 18 times better.

    Avigilon vs Dahua

What's odd to me is AVTech's ranking when AVTech doesn't have a U.S. presence, although they make a good camera. We must be a small insignificant market for them. And #1 in surveillance cameras, Flir, really? Must be all the military & government dollars. Can't imagine someone using Flir in their homes or small business but would be fun. Assa Abloy's dominance in access control is expected, most office buildings I've been in use their products and I use them myself.

    Avigilon vs Sony?

Those are such obscure brands, not sure people have experience with one let alone both. Sony does make a good TV, I'll leave it at that.
  18. I tried Axxon and it's probably the single most CPU intensive NVR software I've tested. Not sure a 2-3 year old consumer grade i7 can run Axxon. Maybe something like a dual socket server with Intel E7 series, maybe the E7-8870. Start with one CPU for the 6 cameras you have and then add the second CPU as you add a few more cameras. It may even work with Intel E5 series if money is tight.
  19. I finished my review on the E32 on my blog. This camera does have very good WDR. With the video of my car pulling into my driveway, you can see that the camera is not overwhelmed by the headlights and you can see the grill detail pretty well. Most people expect this from WDR, to be able to see objects that would otherwise be overwhelmed by bright lights, be it headlights, street lights, house lights. In contrast to the Dahua 3MP I have side by side, the headlights overwhelm the image, no chance of reading a plate. If you compare that to my review on the KCM-5611 with their better WDR, you can see better detail on the truck tires, its' just better overall, but that does not mean that E32's basic WDR is not very good, just not as good. Will start working on the E33 (5MP) next week.
  20. What's the appeal of this camera? If you really want one, check out Andy at www.Linovision.com or Tina at www.dsdcctv.com. To me, these are priced too high. They would have been a bargain a year ago, but times have changed.
  21. I'll stop by the Hikvision and Swann booth in less than two weeks and let you know what they say and how the cameras perform at the ISC show. At least Hikvision is in the U.S., unlike Dahua which is afraid of the U.S.

Wow, you guys can't notice a troll when you see one. First time poster, makes a crazy claim and never comes back.

    Dahua with IE 10

I re-installed Windows, mostly because I wanted to switch to SSD, but this fixed the problem. I can view Dahua cameras on IE 10 now.
  24. The most recent Window 7 Update brought in IE 10 and Dahua is not playing well, no video. Tried "compatibility view" but still no video. Anyone get past this yet? This applies to the Costco Q-See also. Other brands like Panasonic, Sony, Axis, AVTech all work fine with IE 10.
