Firstly can you connect locally on the wifi? if you have no wifi make sure you have set the gateway correctly, I get this time and time again where people forget the gateway. Are you sure you don't have the machine auto keylocking? Try menu and enter that the same time see if it brings up a PW window.

You could look at a KPD678 however the web software is pretty budget With that kind of Budget you could look at getting a Samsung techwin SVR1660, the SNM128 Software is very nice

I have seen this issue in a lot of the 4ch Cpcam/Avtech DVR's There is an issue with recording in Super Best Quality, lower it down to best clear your drives and see how it goes Cp/Av state that the latest firmware fixes the fault but i still have two units away back to them with the latest F/W on them that are still doing it. Never mind, apparently its a good idea to use some circuit board cleaner before trying the hardware reset, works better haha

Trying to Reset the password on a CPcam/Avtech KPD676 Have done the hardware reset by shorting the R155 resistor however this doesnt seem to reset the PW, also took the battery out for 24hours no luck there either. Anyone got any ideas?

As far as im aware 2040 is the latest firmware for these units Scorpion Theater keeps a pretty good listing of firmwares for most avtech machines

If you know the IP address and the unit is on your network you can open the command prompt and type arp -a arp -a this will give you the IP listing of everything on your network and the mac address otherwise depending on the model of the machine the mac address is on a sticker on the main board of the unit.
