I am having camera problems. I have tested the camera stand alone with a power supply but when i hook it up to this system with a new power supply I get no picture.

I am working on a large video camera setup. The cameras have already been installed by another company who got fired when they got busted for breaking into some of the apartments and are a mixture of ip and standard camera connections. This is in a large apartment complex with 100's of cameras. I am looking for some suggestions regarding video servers and how to setup this many cameras to one centralized monitoring location. Folks, I have to setup a business with 8 camera's and a DVR... I have been getting my equipment from a local electrical supply place and it's not the greatest quality. I need something that's middle of the road to better in quality. What do you folks suggest as far as manufacturers are concerned? I am not looking for top shelf super expensive hardware. Just something better than what I have been getting locally. Please advise... Thanks.

He has 2 sites and wants to be able to view both sites from one manager. He also needs better video playback features. These devices are limited and slow on the playback features... Thanks.

came across one of these units a few months ago . the screen display looked just like a avtech. if yours is the same then i think you are stuck with what you have. the only way is to install something better. When you say "the only way is to install something better." do you mean a whole new DVR or software for the DVR? I would rather install new software on this hardware instead of replacing the whole unit altogether... Thanks.

Is it possible to blow out the software in a DVR unit like this and install something else? My customer wants more/better features. I would rather not have to put in a new/better unit... Thanks.

Has anyone used any of their DVRs? The multi site controller they use is awesome and works great. I have setup DVRs for web access from this company only and haven't had any dealings with them or their equipment. http://www.radical-i.com/ I am looking for a better quality DVR than some of these inexpensive overseas units which I have been working with lately. Some of the features or lack thereof definitely leave a lot to be desired... But in this economy I can't kill the customer on cost cause then he won't buy squat from me. I have already cut my costs lower than I am comfortable with. And I definitely can't be spending more time than necessary setting up these DVRs that suck! Thanks. Russell

lol he's got no choice. This is it! Besides I can make it look like a client application and have the multiple sites all open on one page at one time as the home page. So when he opens this browser he will be presented with the logins for his 6 sites. Maybe I can make a macro or something to fill that data in automatically or something. This little browser can do a lot... Wow surprised I never found this before...

Well the customer wants price over quality most of the time. Gotta give them what they want... I found an awesome browser that displays multiple pages at once. It's really cool... It's based on the IE engine but has cooler features and easier ways to turn off all those annoying security issues like activex and java and scripts which these DVR web browsers use. Maybe if I could find a way to view multiple tabs at once in the browser that might make the customer happy....

Also, I know it's a base unit and they have their own controller but it doesn't do multiple monitoring from one application.... I sent them an email but they probably won't respond about a multi-site controller...

I am sure this topic has been beat to death. I have multiple sites with DVR's and am looking for some kind of client that can handle that. The manufacturer has been no help so far and applications I have dl'd have not done what I need. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated... Thanks. Russell

Thanks. I understand about the trunk-slammers... I have come across their work and have had to pick up the pieces. I pride myself on doing a good job. It makes busting my ass day to day worth it. Also helps get new customers too... LOL Thanks again.
