DVR Resolution-Makes no sense to me...
Thomasy replied to nifter53's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
The resolution of camera is for the quality of image what you need to surveillance. 420TVL--- you could see the things but not clear, I mean, not clear for small matter. 540TVL---- it is much clearer when seeing the same thing by comparing with 420 TVL. The resolution of camera is very important for level of security surveillance. (The higher level of security you want, the better resolution is required) As for DVR/ DVR Card, their display resolution is quite different with the resolution of camera. To some extent, they link together for security surveillance, both are important. However, the resolution of DVR is related to display on the monitor. The better resolution of DVR, the less requirement to monitor's size. For example, DVR resolution 1024 x 800, then it is quite good when displaying on 7' or 12 inch monitor. However, if it is 705 x 288, it is very bad when displaying on 19 inch monitor. Above all, both of them are good while displaying at small size of picture(frame). -
Safeland DVR - Where can you buy cards? Help ME
Thomasy replied to rh082357's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
If you just want to buy the card from SAFELAND only, you could search it in the internet. (google or else) If it is famous in your region, then it would be found on the special magazine, your regional security magazine. By the way, AOPVISION card would be another good choice for you. -
Yes, there are a lot manufacuters in China here. Dare to say, nearly 80% of security products (cameras, DVR,...) are made in China. Hikvision IS FAMOUS with their Hardware compressing cards, but with a little high price. We, AOPVISION is also a professional manufactuer of DVR/ cards, but most of our cards are for software compression(h.264, D1.....) AOP-BC / BS (W / W.O Audio) series cards are popular and good quality, Which support nearly all kinds of motherboards (Intel...AMD.....) Please feel free to contact me. Best regards.

Dead Camera Card in PC
Thomasy replied to zanteian's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
Kodicom, Hikvision... are professional DVR card manufacturers, however, with high prices.... AOPVISION is a professional manufacturer of DVR & DVR CARDS, which is a good choice for you. The prices are not too high, but high cost performance. AOPVISION doesn't produce products with high prices, but just commit themself to make the products for nearly all of users, say, every walk of people (home, office.....) Anyone there is searching, please feel free to contact me. (or we could make friends-----exchange ideas for DVR or else.....) Best regards. -
VGA is usually used to be connected to a monitor, then the resolution of VGA means the display rate on the monitor. Usually, 1024 x 768 (the square for viewing)

Have searched -Need Some Advice: DVR + Camera Choices
Thomasy replied to dee99ta's topic in Digital Video Recorders
It is very interesting until now on this topic. Actually, maybe I am not familiar with camera at all, however, here all I know for cameras are made with Sony ccd. In fact, there are two kind of sensors for cameras, CMOS & CCD. In the market, nearly 60% CCD of cameras are used Sony CCD, and 30% for Sharp CCD. Recently, Sharp CCD is not good in the market because of low quality, especially on image viewing. Yes, Panasonic once was good in the market, but it was few (3~5) years ago. If they themself could make the CCD, of course, the specification won't write any brand. Nowadays, nearly all the manufactuers (sellers) would like to show the brand of CCD on spec. -

Hello, guys. What do you mean by "low end"?? I know why you all say this should be low end cameras or DVRs, however, here I'd like to ask all of you that you are a consumer or businessman?? Do you know the prices that the dealers... got from the manufactuers here in Shenzhen, China??? The prices there in your market might be much higher than these, right?? Of course. Because they have been added freight, tax..... Anyway, how much would you think as "high-end"?? Sony CCD, Sony DSP (nextchip DSP).......board lens.....WDR, ex-view.... above all, what are you requirements on CAMERAS & DVR & DVR CARDS ??? -

Have searched -Need Some Advice: DVR + Camera Choices
Thomasy replied to dee99ta's topic in Digital Video Recorders
Hello, there. As for the security surveillance for houses, here I'd like to say something as following: Generally speaking, it needs about 4 ~ 8 cameras & one DVR (PC-based or standalone) For cameras, they could be Box camera, Dome camera, IR camera, Bullet camera, Vandal proof dome camera, spy camera etc. On average, they are ranging from $15 to $80 (middle end). As for DVR, PC-based dvr is about $300 ~ $350 (with HDD); AND it is about $200 ~ $300 (without HDD) for standalone DVR. DVR or DVR cards from Aopvision company may be a good choice for some of you. You could contact Thomas (thomas_gong)-skype for any further information no matter you are in need or not. Besides business, we might be friends, couldn't we?? Best regards, -

Advice and questions for my first DVR system
Thomasy replied to dnsource's topic in Digital Video Recorders
Hello, there. Regarding the DVR, you could buy standalone DVR (with internet). You could connect it to your TV, then you could monitor the security system when you are watching TV (all you need is to connect a convertor from the DVR to your TV set ---AV). In addition, you could view (or control) it by network when you are on a trip or travel (out of home). By the way, nowadays 3G mobile surveillance is the trends of DVR development. No matter you are in need or not, please feel free to contact me. Best regards, Thomas (Skype: thomas_gong) -
