    no im having no problems so far(touch wood). i find the user interface on this DVR is very basic and as you say its like an old version of OS. its like using windows 95.

  3. i have been asked this question many times, "what is the best camera, a low light camera with nite viewing chip or an infra-red camera" both these cameras are of the same resolution @540tvl and a vari-focal lens.

  5. hi all, i have recently installed an alien pro 16ch dvr and i would like to view my recorder remotely, i have done all the neccessary stuff like dyndns, DMZ server on router etc, when i type the hostname into I.E on a computer within my network up comes the dvr instantly, but on an outside network the message appears "this link appears to be broken". i have tried portforwarding and it tells me the port is closed but i set it up to be open on the router, the port is 8000 and and I.P 192.168.0.10 please could you help me , any ideas at all is greatly appreciated.

    Samsung SVR430

    Can anyone help me setup a Samsung SVR430 to remote view over the internet via a BT Home Hub v1.0 I know this is a very old bit of kit but it says in the manual that it can be done, at the minute I am able to view it over the Lan connection but when I setup the port forwarding it still will not work Can anyone help Thanks[/b]
