long range wireless video
IRCCTV replied to bs953's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
I normally hate wireless my belief is if wireless worked there wouldn't be wired cameras. Now one option for wireless is using commercial IP radios which are basically wireless routers on steroids and can offer distances up to 40km of wireless with military encryption, this is not a cheap solution but neither is digging a trench. using these radios not only give you a security infrastructure but also communications infrastructures as well for internet and other purposes (LAN network) Good radio company http://www.tranzeo.com/ I have used these and they work great just make sure your using IP cameras or IP servers. -
I like fujinon lenses find them to be great quality. http://www.fujinon.com/Security/ProductCategory.aspx?cat=43 But that's just me a lot of good manufactures just stay away from china.

AVTECH DVR - Hard Drive Overwrite Mode
IRCCTV replied to bfaridnia's topic in Digital Video Recorders
Hello Can you still search the video depending on the firmware you have I think your fine as it automatically writes over the oldest image with the newest. So once its archived enough video it show it as low disk space because it does not format the HDD each time it simply overwrites the old images with the new. Or it could be a bad HHD but more then likely its working fine. Best Regards -

Its not Hype have you been to there website they have no marketing at all just good products. Bosch and pelco those products are all about marketing as they spend more money on marketing and selling then they on product development. They use dual laser where someone like Vumii uses one. And addition 2 fllod light to capture the fist 500m as with most laser system don't illuminate a lot the first 300m. If you buy the Lens direct from Raymax it is $65,0000 USD for the 20-2000mm lens. Where as the 1500mm lens from fujifilm is around $7,000. http://www.ascendentgroup.com/pdfs/Terra%20PTZ%20overview.pdf Its not Hype its the longest Active IR camera using continuous laser (observe pulses the IR) Its not a cheap camera but is extremely high end and not based on hype based on performance. Press release: http://www.prlog.org/10354774-ascendent-terra-ptz-18km-extreme-long-range-active-ir-surveillance-camera-2000mm-zoom-lens.html PDF from Ascendent the link u posted is a short description for shopping cart. yes Koreans are excellent to work with and have good quality products. And are often on the cutting edge of technology. But due to there Location, time change, and shipping logistics its hard for them to fully support a sophisticated product such as the Terra camera.. But they are extremely knowledgeable and the best at what they do. -

IRCCTV replied to LooNzZZ's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
You don't buy a camera like that from Korea for warranty and support purposes. its a about a $130,000~$180,000 camera. But they do seem to make some great IP components. -

cryptotelecom is not a CCTV manufacture. They are a distributor in Korea for core components which they then sell to IP manufacture or they do large customized projects in korea. CryptoTelecom provides core technologies and products to the manufacturers so that they can manufacture IP devices very easily by integrating their own technologies and products. They make components for IP module no one can manufacture a camera like this unless they specialize in IR one look at cypto and you can tell they manufacture IP not IR cameras. -
Advice on new home install: Sony HQ1, IR Illums, 16ch DVR?
IRCCTV replied to Uter's topic in General Digital Discussion
Im in Canada so very aware of extreme products. Reason Extreme is so popular is they had the firs CCD (LXR) that worked well with IR light. Since then Sony has but a lot of research and Sony CCD's now outperform the extreme LXR sensor. Extreme products are now like 5 years old and our owned by Bosch so good Cameras but overpriced. Vummi Observ and Ascendent all offer greater distances then extreme. A product 5 years old will not offer the best performance. And all of ascendent IR LED;s are hand soldered so that get 20,000 hour of bulb life for there standard series and 100,000 hours for there Terra series. Don't get me wrong extremes product is a great product but there not the best and are very expensive . and its easy to offer 5 year warranty when your markup is over %400. Im sure if you want to pay $700 more ascendent will offer 6 year warranty. But offer me a product with better range, longer LED life, Higher resolution and a quieter video signal and 40% cheaper and more unique product as they don't sell to online retailers ill Exteme makes better illuminatiors Ascendent makes better IR cameras But that's just my view -
Advice on new home install: Sony HQ1, IR Illums, 16ch DVR?
IRCCTV replied to Uter's topic in General Digital Discussion
Yes I am talking about those kind of cameras I use Ascendent Cameras they are better then Extreme CCTV and more affordable. They can illuminate up to 800 feet and yet if I put one in a cupboard they wont overexpose the IR works in tandem with the camera so there is no under or over exposure. why I prefer them to illumination and cameras. If you give me your email I have a chart comparing ascendents cameras with the Ex82 and Ex27 longer range, better image quality and 50DB rather then Extremes 48db. -
Advice on new home install: Sony HQ1, IR Illums, 16ch DVR?
IRCCTV replied to Uter's topic in General Digital Discussion
To be honest I have never had a problem with insects. As far as illumination a good IR camera will illuminate what the lens see's. I just find is more expensive to do cameras and illumination separate and more work and don't find a performance increase as long as you get a IR camera that meets your requirements. and if bugs are a problem just get an anti insect device not sure how they work i think they may use high pitch sound or some electric thing. But that's just me but everyone one has there own preferences. -
Advice on new home install: Sony HQ1, IR Illums, 16ch DVR?
IRCCTV replied to Uter's topic in General Digital Discussion
I don't understand why so many people buy cameras then buy IR illuminators. I suggest using outdoor I cameras with IR integrated less wiring and often better performance. Ascendent is a Canadian manufacture so almost all of there outdoor cameras are -50~55C allowing you to install them just about anywhere and offer Great night vision 50ft~ 8km) For your reference I attached a chart comparing Ascendent's VIS-56IR-2910 and AP550 with Boch's EX27 and EX82. I can seem to add attachment have no idea why its 130kb and jpeg -
Some ISP providers block port 80 and wont allow you to steam video if your router setting are good and its still not working then check with your ISP provider.

Is LED light good for CCTV night video?
IRCCTV replied to robert's topic in General Digital Discussion
Hey My company just got in a white light illuminator that does 1KM of white light. We are using with a 750mm camera and video analytics to alert train operators of objects or people obstructing the tracks to prevent train collisions. I would post a link and show you a picture but it won let me PM me if interested. Best Regards -
zmxtech the terra Series is the best IR cameras on the market in my opinion. Ascendent Technology Group not only makes long range Terra series It but have great mid range cameras too that exceed Extreme CCTV and cost less. There based in Canada I dint know they had a distributor in AUS. Now one option for wireless is using commercial IP radios which are basically wireless routers on steroids and can offer distances up to 40km of wireless with military encryption, this is not a cheap solution but neither is digging a trench. using these radios not only give you a security infrastructure but also communications infrastructures as well for internet and other purposes (LAN network) Good radio company now in order to use this wireless network to distribute video you need to buy IP cameras which are similar to IP cameras only they transmit video over networks instead of a cable. If you need over 10km of wireless pm me I know a system than can achieve over 100km point to point and 40KM mesh network. which allows yo not only to set up a security infrastructure but a communications infrastructure as well. I would post a link but cant Best Regards

Not all CCTV equipment is created equal, in fact there are many options that offer varying performance much like the automobile industry. In the world of CCTV you can find the equivalent of a $2,000 golf cart and a $350,000 Ferrari and everything in between. Both have 4 wheels but that's where the similarities end, it’s under the hood that counts. Just like any other consumer electronic in the end you get what you pay for. Most retailers and sellers make about a 40-80% profit margin, this is after costs like shipping and overhead. That means when you buy a product that costs $100.00 the manufacturer usually has only spent $30 to build it which simply means it’s not a good product and will probably have a working life of about 2 months. There is a reason these products are 1/10 of the price of good and reliable DVR brand names. The type of seller these products attract are online sellers (ebay) and will make profits margins as low as 4% which means they can’t afford to offer good service or allow for RMAs (returns). Cheap products are like disposable razors they are NOT designed to last for a long time and you will end up replacing them every 2 months. Now some products can be made cheaply like ipod cases, screen protectors, and other simple products with no moving parts or electronics. DVRs need to be good quality as they run 24/7 (20X more than the average electronic device) and process anywhere from 30-480 frames per second which in a year is over 15 billion images, and a good DVR should last 4-5 years. also Most cheap produxts are made in China and Taiwan and there specs are to say the least not always accurate. Stick to good name brands. Also as far as night vision or IR cameras go most do not give good images in the dark. Many companies claim good night vision but there are only a handful of brands who give night vision over 30 feet out doors. normally if a cameras is rated 150 feet of IR it will give you ok images at 30 feet at night and good images at about 20 if rated for 60 feet you might get 15 indoors and will be useless outdoors. Some good CCTV brands that I recommend are Bosch, Pelco, Honeywell and Ascendent. I would post links to there website but cant. Economical DVR's Two good economical DVRs I would recommend are Ascendent's AVP-4120 DVR or Pelco's DX-4000. They will allow you to view all your cameras instantly from anywhere in the world using either IE, or a client software. The AVP-4120 uses the latest H.264 codec to improve streaming and recording time, and will allow PCs and Apple computers to remotely view cameras. These are the DVRs I would recommend that are good quality and affordable from companies who stand behind there products. Again if you are going to buy cheap CCTV products save money and get dummy cameras they are just as affective and you will be less disappointed. Best Regads

The bigger the CCD the more light it will allow in. but the bigger the CCD the larger lens you will need. That's PTZ's modules normally use 1/4 and High end Ir cameras or low light cameras use 1/2 And standard cameras use 1/3

Expensive analog camera image/video samples required
IRCCTV replied to robert's topic in General Analog CCTV Discussion
Well 650tVL i think is the highest resolution out there but resolution is only part of what makes a good camera. (I know one company whose R&D is working on a 800TVL ) If you are talking about image quality and not just resolution a 52DB S/N ratio and a high end lens will go a long ways. I would far rather a 540TVL camera whit 52DB then a 650TVL with 48DB S/N.
