rikky replied to cailun's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
guess that all cameras sold in Europe are RoHS since somewhere last year. -
Rory, Just came across the EWM40 from elbex; at first look a great measurement instrument for cctv cameras. (see www.elbex.com) Just want to know who tested this one, and what the comments are. Thnx

Mulitple cameras over fiber
rikky replied to protecvideo's topic in Video Transmission/Control Devices
if you got the fibers free our solution is simple: Fiber Options type - gesecurity.com: S700VT-EST1 transmitter in MM S700VR-EST1 receiver in MM +PSUs that go with it I suppose they've got alternative solutions for multiplexing all 13 cameras over 1 MM or SM fiber. -
True Day/Night = camera + IR illumination. So far everythng here's focussed on the camera alone But if we're talking true d/n we cannot be operational without the IRs. So infact of just manufacturing good cameras, the big guys should better be looking at doing solutions, like Extreme does.

If image size is dropping 30%, how about the quality of the full sized images. Has anyone experience with H264 systems? Which ones are spectacular in quality?

Pelco spectra III how to hook up to a kalatel dvr
rikky replied to apo's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
Unless you put a protocol convertor in between the dome and the kalatel, the PTZ control won't be available. Kalatel used to have Pelco protocol convetors available, so you can have the dvr software remotely control the pelco dome. -
Have you tried looking at the Ikegami range?

Hi guys! I'm interested to know which brand and type of filters you're using to efficiently setup a camera for day and night vision. I've been using a computar set of ND-1 and ND-3, but am not always pleased with the results. Perhaps I'm missing some important things out. Maybe one of you found a much better way to do the camera setup!

CColvard, This sound effectively like a webserver based applicaiton, on which camera's can viewed in live or recorded mode via a standard internet browser, so it also connectable via the outside world in an easy way. But I haven't seen any 16+ systems like that.

Kstiner, Apparently Fiber Options does have some nice equpment for transmitting up to 120 video over 1 single mode fiber. Just don't botter about pricing; it won't be cheap.

I read in the manual of the DVMRe pros that a GNUDIP interface is available. Has anybody got experience how to set this thing up? Does sites like dyndns, noip use a GNUdip or where to find these things?? Any suggestions are welcome!

Looking for best DVR PC based card and software

Anyone tried the VSR-250GB, the MPEG4 unit from Kalatel??

Are you sure the dome manufacturor uses the same version of the Pelco protocol used in the Geo?
-
Hi, If the recorder is placed where there's too little fresh air, the unit gets warmer and fans will be more noisy. More convenient would be to place the unit where sound isn't an issue, and just connect a monitor out via UHF to a TV input in your bedroom, so your getting CCTV images without the noice!

Need true 'real-time' video, audio, and PTZ over internet
rikky replied to eganson's topic in System Design
Eganson, Have you checked out the Servision systems. They seem to get one of the fastest transmissions and interactions over internet. Perhaps somebody else has experienced with these systems? -
Fred, Just to come back to the initial part, if Kalatel has dynamic IP solutions. Apparently, the newest DVMRe Pro seem to have a dynamic IP solution on the GNUDIP engine. Haven't tried it myself, but perhaps somebody else has.

Hi guys, Just 1 thing related to the camera issue: Does it really make sense to go for an IR sensitive camera without installing any additional IR lamps??

Have you looked at TAVOM or STAM ?

Does height of cameras affect image quality
rikky replied to neteyes's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
DVR_EXpert, How can you define the best combination of focal point (distance to the object) and the lens? Lens specs do only indicate the minimum focal distance? So beyond that, every lens should fit?
