Cooperman, I wouldn't call the earth loop problem 'small'. In fact whenever different groundings are being used image distortion is for sure. Has anyone tried those ground loop UTP baluns?
-
Thomas, Have you got a picture in day-ligth, to enable a comparison with the normal quality?

For for of our technicians I'm in search for a good and extensive description of the installation of a lens, using a filter, backfocusing, etc. Did anyone come accross such an explanation lately? Is there any online info on this item available. (Been searching within the websites of the lens manufacturors, but untill now no real help overthere. Tried also some CCTV books, but no real succes either. Hope some of you found something in the past. Thanks.

Rory, Which lens is being used on the camera?
-
Have you seen the systems of Dallmeier. I thought they were represented in UK.

Saw the Pana next to the Ultraview. Ultraview outperformed in WDR exposure, like testing with a direct lighting into the camera. During normal operation the difference can't be seen.
-
Rory, Indeed could be a faulty camera. My test Ultraview did very well.

Saw the DVMRe PRO equipment on the GE website. Seems to be intersting regarding to the upgrade in pps - 100 of them now. (Although this is still not comparable to the PC systems of 240pps) Interesting to me was the DVD functionality, replacing the CD writer. Has anyone had a chance to play with it? Look forward to hearing your comments or thoughts on this GE evolution.

How about the rest of the world?? -
Rory, Have you got pictures or video from before the power went down? I can tell you we're all interested to see how life goes on in the middle of a huricane.

DVR_Expert, Who is doing these stunning DVR dome magic ?? Are these systems for sale all ready ?? Thanks for the info.

Cooperman, What's in fact the best optics - lens manufacturer at the moment. You mentioned Fujinon is doing pretty well; although on the front of Day/Night lenses they seem to be way behind the others. Perhaps there doing slower but better ...

From what I've seen in the past, every PTZ needs its own convertor box, unless the protocol conversion is build in. But for PTZ cameras, (ie fixed cameras on a PTZ module) most brands use a separate control box.

Cooperman, As far as I'm concerned, I've been using Computar and Fujinon, which tend to result in quality pictures. But if better is on the market (as you mentioned your brilliant range) I'm willing to try other brands. Best regards,

As far as I've seen the actual auto-tracking functionality works fine in indoor applications where the dome cameras can be mounted at a reasonable height (+4m) From what I've seen it doesn't work that fine outdoors.

If I understood well, that whenever you've got a bigger CCD, like say 1/2", it captures better light and it's less prone to get abberations ?? From my own experience in fact I can support the statement that best pictures are being kept with 1/2" over 1/3". Why in fact are so little manufacturors interested in 1/2" cameras. Apart from pricing issues for camera and lens, are there other issues that make these cameras not so interesting?

Should be interesting to compare the WD functionality to the GE Ultraview technology. ...

Cooperman, Which CMOS camera are you talking about?
-
What can you do with a camera which has zoom, without having P&T? Which control system can you use to control the lens functionality?

Mounting Camera To View Through Window
rikky replied to kdberg's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
Also keep in mind following: . Backlight could be a major problem on sunny days. Use a Wide Dynamic Range camera like the GE Ultraview with CMOS chip . Reflection by light should be taken care of, by using a higher light level on the outside than inside the room. -
What exactly do you mean then by moving the old sytem?
-
If all that's true at the suggested price ... a mircale is born!
-
Rory, Actually not interested to buy as long as the system has not proven its quality / price level compared to the competition.
-
Depends a lot on e.g. following items: . How about new cabling? . How about the need for other lenses, mounting brackets, housings? . What about reconfiguration of the cameras in the DVR system?

Just try and see what you got Maybe the picture quality is bad, but enough for the client.
