    DVR online keeps going down

    I have a CP CAM 8ch dvr I have been using for a few years now. The issue I am having, is that when i try to view remotely it works for a few months then suddenly stops. if I reconfigure it will work for a few days then stop, Sometime when I reconfigure it can last almost 6 months. I am using a Dynamic IP adress and dyndns for hosting behind a linksys router. Is it maybe because I need a static ip adress that will keep it running constantly. The dvr is being used in my business.
