Thanks for the info. I had read your blog posts previously - very good info. From what I can see of the spec sheets, the Stardot H.264 and Netcam SC Box camera are exactly the same except for the ability to use H.264 on the new version. If you know, is this the case? How are the frame rates at top resolution? I like the operating range spec. ACTI - I have thought about ACTI. The IQ seems to get some mixed reviews though as well as a few QC issues(you usually get what you pay for!). I was looking at the 1231 and 5611. I do have a concern about IR safety. Most of my locations I want to use IR are 8' or so ceilings. I assume that would preclude use of IR from what I have read so far. I will contact Milestone directly as you suggest for more info about software/hardware compatibility. The dealer I got the software from does not carry Stardot in fact it seems nearly impossible to find one and ADI who has an office about a mile from mine seems to be a wholesaler only.

Thanks for the clarification. Can it run on a 64 bit O/S version? LuxRiot works fine on Windows 2000, XP, Server 2003, Vista, Server 2008 and 7. We are removing declaration that Windows 2000 is supported because basically it is a discontinued product, but there have been a great deal of deployments on this OS and versions up to latest are compatible. Just make sure you have latest Win2K Service Pack installed.

Question on the resolution. I was reading a thread on the 502 and I was left with the impression that for it to do h264 compression it had to be set at 1.3MP and not 3MP. Can you clear that up for me? Can you set 2 different resolutions(i.e. 3MP for day and 1.3MP for night)? How is motion blur? We have a NP472 in our garage (about 16 spaces) and it suffers serious tearing. Any movement near the door is unrecognizable.

How is the daytime image of the Panasonic? Also what models use the same imager? Or are you talking about future products?

Has anyone gotten their hands on this Sanyo HD4000? How does it campare to the IQ HD1080p series and the Axis Q1755 esepcially the low light capability? Thanks

Looking to update & expand our office building security system. Currently, we have 2 AXIS and 1 Panasonic cameras on a milestone system(out of date and no PMA). Looking to add at least 2 cameras outside(D/N capable) and an additional one inside the underground garage. I have been looking at various megapixel cameras. I see IQeye a lot from vendors but I have not seen much in the way of commentary here about them. Mostly positive but most recent comments are about Axis, Mobotix or Arecont. Are they any good? I was thinking about the Sentinel series. How do they compare to Arecont? Image Quality? Support? Speed? The current cameras particularly the one on the garage has a problem with tearing when people walk by. I was originally thinking of going with Arecont but I did not like the fact that you cannot d/l new firmware off their website and support seems nonexistent. Thanks.

Have you worked with their HD1080p series? I was interested in the h.264 compression. I am worried that adding a bunch of megapixel cameras might cause network congestion.
