Well, we are looking to put 10 camera inside our hotel bar, basically to keep an eye on employees, particularly in areas where they handle cash and at entrances/exits to the building Here are few details: Ceilings are 8-10ft tall This is what i was thinking, i am open to all opinions recommendations. Since we might need more camera's later on, we decided it is best to go with 16chan DVR card DELL CPU 4Gb Ram, 1TB GB Geovision GV-1240-16 CNB-DFL-20S (7Cameras) CNB-LBM-20S IR (3Cameras) What do you guys think?

I guess i can check the fans, only issue is this computer is in use 24/7. So I really didn't want to break anything, and then guess what computer would work with this card. I'm not to technically inclined with PC's haha. I don't minding spending more $$ on a new computer, which is more current then this which i bought in 2004.

Hello, My geovision V 8.31 keeps crashing every 2-3 hours 24hrs daily. I keeps saying Microsoft recovered from a serious error, i had the same PC for 1 year no issues till past week were it started to do this crash non-sense. Anybody know what i could do?
-
How would i find the Pull of the cpu? Also if i just upgrade to an windows 7 computer, is this card compatible? I rather just buy an faster computer with 4mb of ram and faster processor then his old dinosaur i been using.
-
Hey All, I tried all the steps above, and the computer still keeps crashing? Should i just buy a new powerful pc? would anything from bestbuy.com work? or should i buy something online? can anyone recommend me a good pc for this card?
-
Thank for all the help everyone. But when i go to the database repair after closing geovision and try to run database repair, i get the following (Repairlog500- database file is used by another application!. Please close another application before execution repairlog500.exe!.) I looked at my PC performance and its 90%-100%. Maybe this PC is just the bare minimum to run these 8 camera's? Specs: AMD Athlon XP 2600+ 2.13 GHz 736mb ram XP SP2 Will buying an newer PC help run the system better?
-
If I wanted to upgrade to the 8.4, do i have to pay or is it free? I will try to run the database repair option in geovision then.

Well I finally got my GV800-8 online and can view VIA (GV-I View) App, but its about a 10sec delay is this normal? Anyway (settings) to make this run faster? Also I can not View using Safari on my mac, any other options, then buying another PC just to view? Thanks!

Hello, I wanted to get some opinions on a new system which i plan on building in the coming weeks. Any help is greatly appreciated, I got great advice last time, when i posted a system design and love the equipment!. -Ron My Last Setup For Reference: GV-800-8 (5) CNB-D1760N 530TVL Indoor Fixed Dome Camera with 530TVL (3) CNB-D2760NIR 530TVL 1/3" Sony Super HAD CCD 4mm Fixed Lens 3-Axis 24IR LEDs 12VDC NEW SYSTEM: GV-1240-16 (Since the 800-16 will only give me 7,5fps, and I will be using live view mostly, I decided to go 1240 for less lag) I would prefer the D1760N's & D2760NIR, but the online vendors I found only have the DFL20s & LBM20's. (9) CNB-DFL-20S $50EA (2) CNB-VCM-24VF $145EA (1) CNB-V2765NVR $190 (CNB says discontinued) Any recommendations? (4) CNB-LBM-20S $78 Basic idea is: 9- camera's for Over registers, Hall way's etc) Ceiling are 16ft only. 2- Out door to view tiny (6 car) parking lot 1- IR outside parking lot viewing camera 4- IR Interior (stockroom, register, hallway, Undecided loc) Would you have any advice or recommendations for the camera's they recommended me? Or have an dealer who can get me the same camera's as setup #1. Any companies you recommend doing business with?

Hello, I have had my GV-800 for 2 months no issues till today. I noticed the pop-up below on my screen. I deleted all the video logs off the HD, so space is not the issue. Anybody have any tips, on what might be going on, or what i can do? Thanks in advance! -Ron

My Geovision has been quitting unexpectedly every other night. This is what its showing when i get to work in the A.M? Any leads?
-
Thank you guys!. Rory, thanks for the links I will try to attempt to get this online tomorrow from the information you provided. I will keep you guys updated, if I can't get it to work and need professional/Experienced help in setting this up. Thanks again for the quick/helpful comments. -Ron

Would that be under general settings- system confirm- set location? *Also would anybody experienced with this software VIA remote access my system and tweek/and get it to view online for me? I seem to have a hard trouble getting it to go live, I think port forwarding is messing me up. But i would be able to compensate someone for there time?

I narrowed down my search the best I can, this is my 1st time putting together my own setup. I do have an MPEG4 DVR standalone in my other business, which has been great to me thus far. 120FPS Cards: NUUO SCB-3008: (120FPS): $375.00 GeoVision GV-800-8 (120FPS): $564.00 OR Upgrade: Avermedia NV6240E (240FPS) $569.44 NUUO SCB-5008 (240FPS) $624.75 Card Options: Any work better with a smartphone (Iphone) which you guys know of? Also I am also confused on this and maybe someone can enlighten me. When I buy any of the cards above, do they come with their own software where I can view from home/cell? or do I have to purchase them separate? I wont be using alot of features expect motion detection and viewing from home/cell. Thanks in advance!

Thank you again, Your right I will find a local computer builder so i just dont end up buying something which causes more headache. I really do need some IF camera's for night just for theft issues any you suggest. I will check that site out. What do you think about those in the market place i just posted by i think same vendor? Also: Geovision DVR Cards - GV 800 (120 FPS) $564 or NUUO SCB-3008, 8 Channel DVR Card, 120 FPS $375 sale* OR NUUO SCB-5008 8 Channel DVR Card, 240FPS $624 sale* ($60 more then the geo but double FPS more bang for the buck? One a better quality or easier to setup vice versa? or less ones with problems? Also: I need help with picking out camera's for my shop. Need: -8 Dome Camera's ( 3 has to be IR capable, and one of them has to be exterior proof) (Remaining 5 can be regular color) This is what im considering now, im open to any options/comments or recommendations you guys have. If the outdoors, seem better then the indoors, i can just buy all outdoors and use inside. For the IR camera's Indoor: http://www.cctvwholesalers.com/product.php?productid=16167&cat=306&page=1 http://cnbtec.com/en/html/product/product.php?seqx_prod=1083 http://www.apexcctv.com/p-46-ir-dome-security-camera.aspx http://www.2mcctv.com/product_info-SecurityCameras-DomeCameras-VeiluxSVD48MINI.html The Outdoor IR choices: http://www.2mcctv.com/product_info-SecurityCameras-DayNightInfrared-2MCCTV2MB50IR21.html http://www.apexcctv.com/p-50-vandal-resistant-weatherproof-ir-dome-security-camera.aspx http://www.supercircuits.com/Security-Cameras/Dome-Security-Cameras/CD33W http://www.cctvwholesalers.com/product.php?productid=16824&cat=306&page=1 http://www.2mcctv.com/product_info-SecurityCameras-DayNightInfraredDome-VeiluxSVD48IR28.html

Hey Guys, I've never built a computer or upgraded one after my old windows died, I just bought a mac. But I need another windows PC for geovision and I am lost. Maybe someone can point me in the right way. Thanks In advance! Okay this is the what I have/need: Have Below: Can buy new one, or upgrade this if possible. Cheapest way Compaq Presario S5314ST: What I need: Something which can run/support this: Geovision DVR Cards - GV 800 (120FPS)/ 8 Camera=15fps each camera which seem okay correct) -System Requirements:- OS: Windows 2000 / Windows XP / Windows Server 2003; CPU: Pentium IV 2.0Ghz; RAM: 256MB (minimum); HDD: 80GB (recommended); VGA Card: nVidia GeForece II MX200 32MB; DirectX: 9.0 or above. GV-800 is currently not compatible with VIA series chipset motherboard and 64 bit systems. My Needs: -8 Camera's Dome/ Infrared : model:CD33W $59.99 -Be able to view from home/phone If you have any other camera recommendations, please feel free to mention. Thanks in advance, Ron

Thanks you both for the response's. Does the computer processor speed affect the cameras? This is what I thought, if the processor was fine, I would pick up a 1TB from bestbuy for $100 and 2 sticks of 512mn ddr for under $50 online and have a good computer. I would be set to go, but dont get me wrong if the processor makes a difference i don't mind spending another $400-450. I was looking at this setup at bestbuy also: Asus: Model: CM5570-AP003 $450 ProcessorIntel® Pentium® Processor Speed2.6GHz System Bus800MHz Cache Memory2MB on die Level 2 System Memory (RAM)6GB System Memory (RAM) Expandable To16GB Type of Memory (RAM)DDR2 Hard Drive TypeSATA (7200 rpm) Hard Drive Size750GB GraphicsIntel® Graphics Media Accelerator X4500 Video MemoryUp to 1759MB shared Digital Media Reader or SlotsYes, digital media card reader Available Expansion BaysExternal: 1 (5.25"); Internal: 1 (3.5") Available Expansion Slots2 PCI, 1 PCI-E x16 Operating SystemWindows 7 Home Premium 64-bit I will still look for other cheeper ones, or if you other sites or brands that you recommended. But this is just a option is you think it will benefit me instead just upgrade my old compac. Mark: THANK YOU! for that video, it was very helpful to see the difference in FPS. I will need to go 15fps, just as you described i clearly need to watch inventory and be able to 100% see without blurs. Now my question is, Geo doesnt support 64bit, and every computer i find online/bestbuy is 64bit. Could i simply buy a 64 bit, and reformat with XP 32 bit? Or is it not that simple? This is what Im considering Currently: Geovision DVR Cards - GV 800 (120 FPS) $564 IR Dome AP-LIRD1W (Sony 1/3" CCD,420 Lines) 59.00 x 8 =$472 CCTV Siamese Cable - 500 spool $80.00 BNC Male Connector- 20 for $15 9ch cctv power supply 5amp-$45 2.1mm Female DC Plug 10 Inch Kit (8 for $7.60 The camera's are from: apexcctv dot com So I figure $1,182.10 plus computer lets say $450= $1631 for a good setup? If you guys recommend better camera's for the same price or maybe few dolars more I am very interested and grateful. Thanks again for the help! PS: I seen in the sellers market on the site security camera supply is selling this, which i think is better then the camera's above? CNB DFL-20S Dome Camera (Black) - 600TVL - 3.8mm Lens - AGC, BLC - 85mm Dome Size - 3 Year Warranty
