Please Help Somebody!!! Lasers disruppting my Cameras
need2shave replied to Loria's topic in General Digital Discussion
Agreed Boogieman. This is getting old fast. Loria, you may be educated but you aren't taking a logical process to determine the problem. You post a bunch of issues that you presume are caused by your neighbor. Experts tell you that it is impossible for your neighbor to perform the actions you claim. Rather, a simple and explainable diagnosis is a faulty DVR. Despite this, you still discount the plausible instead choosing an impossible scenario. This in conjunction with your paranoid tone, admissions that the police pay you no attention, that your neighbors all dislike you, leads me to assess that you should seek help with a medical provider and not here. -
Thanks, I know the specs state 64gb but I was hoping maybe they were behind in updates. I wasn't sure if anyone had tried it just in case and could report on their findings.

Please Help Somebody!!! Lasers disruppting my Cameras
need2shave replied to Loria's topic in General Digital Discussion
Lasers aside, I have never seen a recording unit that allows you to delete certain clips selectively. If the unit is not connected, it is impossible to delete unless someone is doing it from inside the house. You may want to check the paranoia for a moment and come back to reality. Fix or replace the faulty unit...can't be much more clear than that. -

It sounds to me that the most likely issue is an incorrect setup or a malfunctioning unit...likely no neighbor involvement whatsoever. -

I should have said standard definition versus analog...it may not be analog. -
need help to compare two quotes
need2shave replied to livetofly's topic in General Digital Discussion
The difference between standard definition (1) and high definition (2) is often summed up by end users . Standard - "I thought it would look better than that" High Def - "Wow, that looks great" Go with number 2 assuming other factors not mentioned are similar. -

Edited for correct camera - I just ordered a Hikvision DS-2CD6026FHWD (-A) for a low light requirement. It came highly recommended. -
How to install cctv in a remote unconnected area?
need2shave replied to Geaser11's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
We build these solutions frequently. We house the cameras on an outdoor enclosure with 3g/4g internet, solar power, battery backup. System is pole mountable. -
I decided to try this. If anyone has used one with an IP camera, I'd welcome your insight. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005OIB6XI/ref=pd_lpo_sbs_dp_ss_2?pf_rd_p=1944687782&pf_rd_s=lpo-top-stripe-1&pf_rd_t=201&pf_rd_i=B008140GOC&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_r=1BF0GGEBJ7RAN8P39YVR

I'm looking for a recommendation on a small form factor wifi adapter for use with covert cameras. Would need an ethernet port, preferrably 12vdc. Any tried and true suggestions?

VideoIQ/Avigilon works...can't speak for other analytics. I have it on my house doing close to what PAX is looking to do. Without analytics, you can forget about advance notice options unless you want a few hundred false alarms a day or want to cover your property in PIRs. 2 x Axis cameras for 150 pounds...on what planet???
-
They were available even after the buyout as recently as this past summer. I've contacted Avigilon numerous times trying to learn about becoming a partner in anticipation that the VideoIQ line would eventually be taken out of VideoIQ's distribution channels...I have yet to ever get a call back from Avigilon or receive a straightforward answer.
-
Pax, Avigilon bought VideoIQ and the link provided by AK is the solution now. AK357, are the Rialto devices still available via suppliers like Tri-Ed or is that now discontinued? If it is discontinued, can you PM me information on how I can obtain them through Avigilon?
-
I have a similar set up on my residence using VideoIQ's Rialto and have provided this same solution to several clients with security concerns. We tie it into a monitoring station so whenever a person steps on the property it triggers the station and our response services. It also has audio & alarm outputs so your requirements should be possible. http://www.videoiq.com/product/rialto-i4/

I've used Hik cameras with Dahua NVRs and have had issues...ended up replacing the NVR with Hik...problems solved. I won't mix and match ever again. -

That is a Reconyx system. You can buy the camera or just the enclosure on their website. -
Looking for a new intrusion analytic solution

I've got no video in the export folder. The low quality alarm clips are in the clips folder but it is failing to export the high quality video. -
Looking for a new intrusion analytic solution
need2shave posted a topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
I've been a user of VideoIQ for several years now mainly the RialtoI4...and while I've always found the units buggy - issues exporting video. The most recent units I've purchased are so much of a hassle I need to move on. After a power reset, it is virtually impossible to export any video before the power down despite the fact that I can view the recordings. I've done factory resets, upgrades to firmware, downgrades of firmware, checked the time settings, etc etc etc...but nothing works. Previously one of these efforts would eventually fix the issue (although there was never any rhyme or reason for it)...but now nothing. I also never get a straight answer from tech support. Exporting video shouldn't require a witch doctor on standby. So I'm looking for suggestions on other analytics for intrusion detection. Anyone have a rec? -

need2shave replied to need2shave's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Interesting. When I'm in the alarm type and hit export full alarm event, it then goes to the export tab in View. That is where I'm getting the unavailable error. If the video makes it to the export tab, then I offload it to my computer. Seems I may be going through an extra step and maybe eliminating the tab would solve the issue. Where did you set up the feature to go straight to the computer? -

Yes. I think I'm cursed! When I talk to tech support they say the same thing. Maybe its the hard start/stop??? -

LTE. Also, when I pull the unit to download locally, I get the unavailable error also. -

It occurs when I try to export the full alarm event. When I switch over to the export tab it says unavailable. -

I need the analytics to identify activity when the units are deployed. Trying to keep the draw to a minimum since the units are running off battery. Adding another device for recording would be a hassle but if that's what has to be done then...
