Oh damm... I think that video is too much man.

Can't believe that it took the damm cops 20 minutes to get there. Mad, he would have gotten a nice clean .45 accross his face over here.

I have the GANZ PSM-02. Battery powered, (6) AA batteries Very light, comes with a protective leather case, and I love it!!! I use it a lot to show clients where the camera will be facing when installed. http://www.cbcamerica.com/images/CCTV/Monitors/psm01wcase&hand.jpg

So I'm doing a late job at one of my grocery customers, when we hear a bunch of cops coming down the road and stopping at another grocery store a block away (also my customers). Come to find out it was a robery gone bad, and the owner's wife and a employee got killed. Seems that the MORON!!!! that installed the alarm (no me), set the alarm box wrong, and when the lady hit the panic button, the alarm's siren went off, so the thief shot her, and the employee (really nice kool guy) came running down to defend her, and he got shot too. The sad thing is that all this happened in front of her 5 year old, who was ducking behind the counter, and his mom literally fell on top of him. ...and of course the thief got away, but not before the cam caught a really nice picture of him, and the exterior camera caught a really clear pic of the car that he was getting away from. So, anyway, I am looking at all this going on, but I had to idea what happened inside, but the husband came running, the poor guy was devastated and saw me in the crowd and made the cops let me in to pull the video out, and damm man, the guy had ample time to get out of there, no need to kill these people. here's the news coverage: http://www.nbc30.com/news/5875188/detail.html

The first suggestion is get rid of ADI, go with more CCTV Minded Distributors, TRI-ED, NORTHEN VIDEO, ETC. ADI is the most Expensive DIST that I have encountered.

Ok, so I got a OEM PTZ camera for my house. The picture is really good for a OEM, and it's day night and what not. Here's my problem. I am able thru certain keys on the DVR software, to send the command to get into the OSD menu. But, no matter what I do, I can't press "enter" to get into a sub-menu or change settings. The manual says that the "enter" key is actually the "NEAR" key on a joypad, but I don't actually have one. The good thing is that the software allows me to send a command that I type in to the PTZ, so my question is if anyone knows of a way to do thing? maybe mapping a key on the keyboard? or the actual line command of the "NEAR" key? I'm using the PELCO (D) Protocol. Thanks

It is very sad thing that a company promises to deliver a cable that honestly cost next to nothing in quantity. -

Not if you properly ground the pipe. But good point.
-
Just so we are clear, I wasn't talking about underground piping, I was talking about a line on a brick wall.

Actually, the Electrical Inspector is the one who informed me to use EMT instead of PVC. I will see him later in the week, and ask him to explain why this is, I guess some states are different than others. Now, don't get me wrong, I like using EMT, but PVC is much cheaper

Well, I had the sticks in slot 1 and 2, but after someone made a recommendation, I moved them to 3 and 4. Same thing. In the end, I had to make a IDE HD the primary partition, and used the SATA as a file drive. it works fast, but I would have liked to use the 400sata because is much faster.

You guys have NO IDEA what I just went thru. If is possible, is it OK to post a link to another forum that's completely Computer (AMD) related? it has wealth of information, and it has nothing to do with security. let me know and I'll show you guys what I had to do.

Suggestion for a CCTV system
Securitymaster replied to lucky888's topic in General Digital Discussion
When looking at the DVR card, stick to name brands, Video Insight, GEOVISION, I-VIEW, etc. They are all good cards, one has the best of one thing, while the other has the best of another, example, GEO has in my opinion, the best Picture quality, but it lacks on GUI and remote software, Video Insight, has great search features, but it lacks on user friendlynes, I-VIEW, has the best Remote Software, and a good GUI, but it lacks on search features. It is not an easy decision when it comes down to these three, but I can guess that anyone here can tell you that either of these will be a best bet. -
That's a very nice trick with the shutter speed. I have a toshiba IK64DN that I'm going to try that on tonight, I'll take pics and post them on.

What DVR are you using.
