Securitymaster replied to jzipf's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
What version of the software do you have? And, do you have the latest Video and Chipset Drivers installed? -
What kind of DVR are you going to use with this PTZ's?
-
Can't really help you there, but the only thing that I can say is that this is a prime example of where you should have hired a professional. I assume that you are using pelco DVR'S, 8000 series maybe?

Newsletters about video surveillance systems
Securitymaster replied to tpolus's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
one thing that comes to mind is that, no matter what anyone tells me, I still think that CRT has a better quality pciture than an LCD. Is just a sharper image. -
I have used these before, from GE, and to be honest, they are the best quality covert cameras that I have ever used, and they are not that expensive. http://www.gesecurity.com/portal/site/GESecurity/menuitem.f76d98ccce4cabed5efa421766030730?selectedID=10541&seriesyn=true&seriesID=

But the cost difference between building a 1/4" and a 1/2" has to be really big, since there is more glass involved. Now don't forget, in china, they are making fake sony ccd chips now, I got to look at my links to find it, I think that this is why one can get cheapo ptz domes for around 600 nowdays.
-
Why is it that almost every PTZ manufacturer that I have come across always use a 1/4" ccd, instead of a 1/3"? is it only cost, or is there another benefit from it?
-
Look at CPCAM, for the budget that you are looking for, they have excellent products. The IR Bullet does not have a IR cut filter, but the image is good neverless. http://www.cpcamnewyork.com They are AVTECH equipment, just a brand that they want to use for the US. If you are interested in any of them, send me a PM.

Talk to MA-LABS. They are over in CA somewhere. -
A DELL system to run a Geo??????????????? You should have done your research first. Talk to Scottj, he can pin point you in the right direction, since he's the in-house GEO expert.

What DVR Board is this?
Securitymaster replied to heloder's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
I don't know why I get the feeling that is a kodicomm board. -
You don't want to go with a CMOS camera, look for something that's CCD. There are several cameras in that price range around, just do a search on this site and you will find a wealth of information. Welcome to the board.

Godamm, 8 grand may seem steep, but my father just paid almost 15K to get his boiler replaced yesterday, and the damm thing only cost $4500, but this plumber was the only one that would do the work and had the parts in stock right away. And they call us highway robbers.

split ohne video signal on two monitor
Securitymaster replied to vda's topic in General Digital Discussion
I tried doing that once rory, and you could immediately tell the difference in the picture, the image went darker than normal on both screens. -
Avermedia produces a lot of OEM cards for mainly European DVR manufacturers, I know that ALNET systems uses their cards for their software.
-
hey ellena, what time where you there? I was there too talking to john.
-
You know what else? You could also try and fabricate some sort of sun shield for the housing so that sunlight doesn't directly hit it, thus dramaticly minimizing the heat effect on them.
-
Or he could just get one with heater and cooling, and just kinda "snip" the heater wires.
-
Well, I am very glad to know that it has worked for you. You didn't metion that it was for home use, which is what this unit is intended for, so I retract my previous statement.

MIDWESTCCTV
Securitymaster replied to Securitymaster's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
yes. -
Well, it is looking rather good, since I have done work for these people's family before, they even handed me the 2 other bids so that I can beat them, so it's almost a done deal. Anyway, I already found a DVR that will take care of this issue, so moderators can go ahead and close this thread if they wish.
