H264 hikavision card / ildvr
Securitymaster replied to bigbrother's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
Where did you get the card from? eBay? -
Ok, I saw it here before, but can't find it. The gadget that allows you to combine the signal of 2 cameras down one video line, then split them again at the dvr. Thanks.

Securitymaster replied to Securitymaster's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
Thanks, but I have been looking to see what I can expect to pay for this (dealer), if someone knows the price range, please post it on the dealer section so I have an idea, will probably need on a upcoming project. Thanks. -
OK, OK, I got to get rid of this, $1500.00 I'ts a steal, can't let it get lower than that.

compression card + ActiveX + ...
Securitymaster replied to dagre76's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
Well, is dependent on a lot of things. Is this for a hobby, or business? Are you doing all of the software yourself? That determines wether you need a card from a OEM chinnesse manufactuer, which will cost less but it's a hit/miss with the hardware, or if you want to spend the $$$, you could go to any of the major player, like Avermedia, or Chance-I, or Kodicomm. They'll sell you the cards with the SDK, but it's going to cost you, since you hve to enter in some sort of agreement with them for a large scale purchase. -
Ok, I have a client, who is having 5 cameras installed at his house. This is no ordinary house by the way. One of the Cameras is a Aerocon 3130, while the rest of them are I/R Domes. What we want to do is have a multiplexed image be fed into all the TV's in the house, so a Video Modulator is in order. The question is this, other than GEO and Chance-i, what other DVR card can I look at that provides a multiplexed image output thru a composite connection? Plus, if anyone can recommend a modulator under $100 that I could use it would also be helpfull. Thanks.

Yup, you where right. I ordered the GE Symsafe Hybrid DVR, because GE told me themself's that it will work, yeah right. the DVR is nice, but to me, not worth the price. So, after consulting with a million different people, I spoke to the security manager from a local casino here in CT, and they have 2 Arecont that they are testing, and the DVR that they are using is from a company called EXACQ, and the DVR does the exact same thing that I am looking for, but it cost more $$$. I ordered today, and should have it sometime next week. Will post updates on what's going on. -

Arecont 3130, disappointing image quality
Securitymaster replied to Kiwi's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Gotta tell you, I have read things about tech support from this company, did try to call, but no answer, so I called their eastern rep, Jason, and he told me everything that I need to know about this system, very happy with the info that he provided, so I guess that they are listening and hopefully their tech support will get better in the near future. Anyway, rorymon, he sent me a PDF with the info you asked for: Thanks. -
Arecont 3130, disappointing image quality
Securitymaster replied to Kiwi's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Well, I just finally got mine to work, I am WOW with the quality of the image, but still trying to determine how to make the night sensor work better than what it is. The application where this camera will be installed will have barely moon lighting, so I want to know if an external IR beam will work? Mainly looking for a wide beam. Any ideas? -
Ok, can someone please refresh my memory and tell me what is the name of the device that allows me to put 2 analog camera feeds on one coax line. Thanks.

HELP!! Arecont 3130
Securitymaster replied to Securitymaster's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Yeah, Thomas's place, I should give him a call. Thanks. -
Ok, so I got 2 of these expensive puppies. Got 2 problems. 1. Do I have to use the POE switches that they talk about? I have it connected via a power adaptor, 500ma, and the green light on the network connector is on. I connected it to one of my router's ethernet ports, but I get no connectivity. Do I need to try a crossover cable? 2. Second, I'm mixing this with a PC based DVR, Card hasn't been determined, so how do I connect this thing to a CH Port on the DVR? Man, breaking my head.

HELP!! Arecont 3130
Securitymaster replied to Securitymaster's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Have you ran the setup CD that came with the Arecont cameras? YES Do you understand networking and how to change your IP on your computer? YES What make/model is your PC based recorder? I haven't determined this yet, but I have to make up my mind very soon, I was waiting to determine what to do with this camera that in case I need a specialiced DVR, but it seems more and more likely that I am going to send the cameras back. If I do send them back, what is there available that I could replace this camera with? I was looking at one point at COVI, but it seems that GE bought them out, so I can't find any Info on their stuff. How about a Hybrid DVR card? NUUO seems to have what I need. But I only saw a 64CH system, when all that I need is 16CH. Who distributes NUUO ? -
Which Card to Use...
Securitymaster replied to Securitymaster's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
Multiplexor won't work in this situation. The other suggestion seems interesting. Here's the lowdown: Cable in from CATV company, goes into modulator, CCTV feed from DVR also goes to modulator. Then one CATV line goes out to splitter to feed rest of the house. I found this: http://www.channelplus.com/product_detail.php?productId=37 -
Which Card to Use...

I'm looking at the card right now. One thing, the Channel plus unit only has cable out, not cable in. What I am trying to do is this: -

You know, I still can't comprehend it either, and then throw a 32 yard pass? Plus, how the hell the reciever caught it and held it on his helmet? Damm, I guess we wanted it more.
