Any obvious signs that a GeoVision card is a counterfeit?
-
I have tried two CNB cameras and I have a camera that is mounted vertically on a wall at a front door with a covered porch, the issue I have is after 2PM the sky gets really bright and anything 5 feet in front of it (under the porch) including people are very dark. Any suggestions on cameras that would help. Thanks

I updated mine yesterday but my RPB still doesn't work??

I found that out after hours of deinstalling and reinstalling...

I'm thinking about switching my 32CH GV-1480 cards to a stand alone DVR. I'm not overly impressed with GeoVisions picture quality and the fact that it's dependant on a windows bases pc. Any suggestions? Pros / Cons? Thanks

Anyone switch from GeoVision to a stand alone DVR?

I spoke to CNB USA and they said that they do not produce the DVR cards anymore, just stand alones. ?? -
So the 34 will do great in that position but I will lose out on the low light sensitivity? and the 24's will do a OK job but better low light? Any suggested attractive looking WDR cameras with IR?

I tried the VBM-24VF but didn't mess with the settings. I also prefer something a little less "bulky" too since it's on a brick wall next to a door. I guess I'll play with the SBLC settings.

Is it possible to record more than 7 days? I can't seem to find a setting for that. Also is it possible to sort by camera when I view the motion log? Thanks

This is a existing install but I had a 320GB HD before and it was recycling so I never had more than 5 days of storage avail. I added a 1.5TB External HD and it says it has some 1.3GB left? I have 18 Cameras on 2 x GV1480's all analog and I'm recording at 720x480 I have the compression set to MPEG 4 ASP. It looks to be recording about 7 days before it drops the prior days. Thanks!

I still can't get it to record more than 7 days! Any other suggestions? Thanks

Wow, thats something new, I was there just the other day and it was there as normal. Now its gone and there is a whole list of new cameras. will check them out and see what they are about! Thanks for the reply as that got me to check it out Looks like the VBM-20S is our outdoor replacement for the dfl-20s. But the 20's arent replacements for the 24s as they are only 12VDC. Probably just a mistake on leaving out the 24VF in an update. Hmm.. It's still listed in CNBUSA.COM I think they forgot to add it back on since their new cameras are already listed on their website and will be avail in a few weeks. Like Rory said, they are 12V also the VF cameras have IR.

I have it record round the clock and have 1.2 TB still free. It looks like it starts to recycle after 7 days? As for the sort the Viewlog I can't seem to be able to click the top bar to sort by camera?

Is it all marketing? I haven't seen any reputable companies offer it so is it just chinese junk?

Anyone have any experiance with the LTS cameras? I have a couple CNB with the Mona Lisa and think they are great! I got mine from surveillance-video, great price and fast shipping! -
I just picked up two CNB VBM-24VF and I am very impressed at the low light images!!! These things are amazing without any IR. My question is - Are the Panasonic 484's that much better?
-
Panasonic 484 VS CNB vbm-24vf - Anyone compared them?
nsxttt replied to nsxttt's topic in Security Cameras
Thanks for the clarification. I currently have eBay IR cameras too and they are horrible! Here's a comparison pic of the CNB and the Sony Super Had 480TVL 84 IR eBay cameras. CNB: 25W Lamp Light to the left. Street light aprox. 60 FT away. eBay Camera: This camera is to the right aprox. 20 FT away -
I have a GV-1480 and would like to add more channels but I don't need the 30 FPS on the second card. I'm thinking of either adding the 1120 or the 800 for 17-32. Will this work? Thanks

My card supports this feature. I have tested it with two cards but I don't need another 1480 in my system. I'm confused about what you mean by I can get a clone card to do this? Thanks

I ment shopping for one. I've seen a few decent priced ones on ebay and a few really cheap ones. I saw a post somewhere on here with a picture of a real one and it seems like the real ones have "clear" plasic bags for the accessories and the fakes ones were a thin not as translucent bag. Also looks like the real ones have more bags and accessories. All the ones I've seen have 8.2 or 8.3.

I've seen cameras with 6 large IR leds and 6 standard size ones. Are these better than lets say 84 standard sized ones? Thanks!
-
Cameras with large IR Leds vs standard size ones?
nsxttt replied to nsxttt's topic in Security Cameras
Gotcha, they are stating a 250FT range on the 6 large/6 small led unit vs. 150FT range on the 84LED camera... Marketing hype? -
What are your thoughts on this DVR? Reasonably priced at $650. http://www.dvrusa.com/ViewMaster1600.asp

Suggestions for an excellent camera in the dark?
nsxttt replied to nsxttt's topic in Security Cameras
Yes, my budget is under $500 each camera. I noticed that the cameras I have now are really grainy at night, is that because of the quality of the camera or all of them going to be like that? Thank!
