  1. It still doesn't explain how to view and playback recordings thru remote location ivms 4200, or phone app ivms4500.
  2. Yes this is exactly what your missing, you need to fwd external ports to your campera ip, Camera 1 port 81 cam 2 port 82 cam 3 port 83 etc. you don't need to change anything within the cameras itself. Or if you have a nvr or pcnvr then just fwd one port to that and your all set.
  3. If I may ask which software did you use instead?, I'm in desperate need of something good for hikvision cams, and can't find anything decent for good price.
  4. Thank you very much for this info its very detailed and useful. With your setting is it possible to review the storage server recorded files when accessing from a remote site? I have everything setup the way you advised but cannot for the life of it playback recordings remotely using ivms client. On my mobile phone I can if I add the storage server port, but not on ivms client. Am I doing something wrong?
  5. "- Set a different Server Port for each camera to allow easy access via smart phone." i suppose it a user wants to directly connect to 1 camera then your advice is accurate and makes sense, but again, i assume people want to connect to the server and then view the cameras from there. thanks. I think he is right, because I dont think you can connect your mobile app or remote client to the ivms server directly, unless you use the PCNVR version, in order for you to view cameras remotely you will need to port fwd each camera individually. I disagree with him in regards to change internal camera port, I think you can leave it to default and just assign dif ports in your router for each camera and link it to local cam ip. Please note that in order to play recorded files on your mobile phone you will have to add the storage server port separately and when reviewing on your phone you will select the storage server not the individual camera.
  6. Im also wondering the same. Looking high and low for this feature but can't find anything on this, the ivms 4200 has something called keyboard shortcuts but I dont see any way of using to to switch camera views.
  7. For the main local pc are you using the pcnvr version or the 4200 with storage server? Regardless of which version your using on the remote pc try going into system configuration under image tab unselect auto change stream type. Then by main view select each camera and select sub stream.
  8. Is there anyway of reviewing recordings of the storage server on a remote pc using IVMS-4200? I setup a local pc with ivms 4200 installed and setup storage server, on the local pc I can review the storage server recording, but on remote pc I cant figure out how to review them, when I do remote playback it tells me no files available. When I put them in mobile app on my phone I can do remote playback to storage server but no live images. Any idea on reviewing on ivms 4200 and live view on 4500 mobile app?
  9. I have a 5 camera system connected to a pc using storage service to record on PC. I would like to know if its possible to connect my door bell to the camera alarm input channel to trigger my PC to switch the 5 camera view to only enlarge for a certain period of time and show the camera facing my door when the door bell is pressed. 1. I know its possible with some traditional dvrs, is it possible using the alarm input or further more connect a IO usb device to pc,? 2. is it at all or only possible with a Hikvision NVR that has alarm input to trigger the live view setup to change? 3. if none of the above is possible would it be possible thru the camera alarm input wire to trigger the pc view to change?
  10. Yes I have the iVMS-4200 PCNVR but how do I set the alarm to trigger the view to change?
  11. Yes thanks so much, followed your list to the "T" and it works like a charm. I have 1 question, if I would like to access the cams and recordings on my phone or on remote ivms4200 client do I set it up with ports for each camera or I could just set up the PC ports and login straight to pc, also I set up stream server but dont know if that is for external connections, and if yes how do I connect my app 4500 to live view or remote playback.?
  12. With the latest version of IVMS4200 it has built in storage server, is there any advantage of the PCNVR software? I set it up with storage server to record on my pc HD and it records fine, I just cant find a way to connect my phone app to connect to it,
  13. Thank, can you explain please in short how you got this done?
  14. +1 on this, I can't figure out how to set the storage server to record on hard drive. everything else works fine. Also with a hik cam that records audio too when downloading the recordings it dosen't come with audio, any idea how to accomplish that?
  15. I'm looking for a software to monitor remotely 3 different recorders, I have a hybrid geovision pc with 16 cameras. then I have some Chinese brand Dvr, and acti nvr software all at 3 different recording locations. I have access to monitor ea individually but I would like to set them up so I can view all 25 cameras on 1 TV monitor thats connected to my pc but havent found the software that can do all of them together. I can use ipcam viewer on my android and use bluestacks on my pc, but quality isnt the best.
  16. Thanks so far works well with my acti, but cant get it connected to my geovision DVR, any thoughts?

    New PC recommendation!

Hi I have a pc with a geovision 1480a card installed running 12 analog cameras and few ip cameras, the pc which is a core 2 duo with 4 gb ram installed is kind of acting up lately, its mostly using like 70-80% cpu, so I figured time to upgrade now. would anybody know of a good replacement which pc to buy? I know there are some limitations to motherboards, so which one will work best?

    New Mobotix M15

Thanks for your support, Ive also read your review on it, very nice and detailed. My questions now is, at the place where I need it I have a geovision 1480 analog card with 10 cctv and ptz cameras along with 3 geo ip bulet cameras, their pretty cool at night too, but no zoom and they tend to break too much. With the KCM-5611 nvr softwere you wrote that it dosnt take much cpu, so can I install it on the same system using the geo dvr? its a core 2 duo so its not the latest pc.

    Next Version of GV-NVR

The 8.5.5.0 update will work as a GV-NVR as well, you dont need to a GV card to use that update.
