    Pairing GV cards - versions

Guys Hope someone can help here, as the GV documentation is not granular enough to answer. Do we know "how identical" GV cards need to be when paired? as there are several versions of the 1120,1240 and 1480 cards - v3.1, 4.21, 4.32 etc etc - when pairing, do they need to be identical in revision? I am looking at all PCI-E versions - no old PCI. I appreciate that all identical may be desirable, but where sites are being upgraded, I dont want to get into a swap out game to ensure all identical cards across sites. Thanks in advance David
  2. Hi Well, I tried as you suggested, and tested at each stage and no luck! The DMMultiview is find viewing other (older, some as far back as 7.05) and they are fine... its just 8.5.5. Anyway, I would back to a 8.5 backup and its fine.... so its not the client. Very weird...
  3. Hi Guys Just wondered if you have seen the issue I have with two DMMultiview installations (so its not the DMMultiview PC). You can view GV installations ok, but if you double click one camera to make it full screen, the video does not go to the higher resolution (it stays blocky which is probably 160/120) and then freezes, ie the video image is static. The application does not hang, as you hit escape and it goes back to normal multicam viewing. I have used the DMMultiview from the 8.5.5 DVD and it is the same (as I was using a previous release before the issue) and I can view other older, non 8.5.5 GV installations and they work perfectly, so it must be 8.5.5 at the server end. Any thoughts before I restore a previous GV release on the servers? Thanks in advance David

    Home Driveway Camera

It does look like you have a dirty dome (as said above) and the IR is reflecting off that, softening the image. Oh...and some other noise! BG

    IR washout on CCTV Cameras

Hi I have had issues with several "cheap" IT cameras - just as you have. What I have done, which you may feel is extreme(!) is openthe camera up and modify the IR LED positions. What I mean by that is, adjust the LEDs so they are not all pointing straight ahead like a big "beam" and are more disperse. This obviously looses you distance viewing, but buys you width and a far more ven illumination of the subject. I do wonder why they are not made that way - or at least have that as an option when ordering as it makes far more sense to have the light "fill the frame" and not just a spot in the middle. David
