The 495's are great camera's I have some at home and just a streetlight is enough light for the ones i got... I do have motion lights as well but they work very well without...

It can happen, ive had bad runs of catv cable, it can be a manufacturing defect, ive also heard of cable where certain frequencies were simply notched out..
-
Diplexor should work as catv freq's do not overlap with sat ones.. you need two of them.. one at the source, and then split it at the receiver again one line goes into the sat box and one goes right to the tv and you put it on whatever channel the cam is modulated to

I beleive the bosch IP cams will record to an iscsi target, no internal storage though.. or at least not much -
Hello, i recently purchased a dibos micro (used) and it did not come with the cable for the spot monitor output. In this schematic its the plug laballed as 12 http://resource.boschsecurity.us/documents/DiBosMicroDigit_DataSheet_enUS_T4079362955.pdf It basically looks like an s-video plug and its supposed to break out into 2 bnc cables. Does anyone know where i can buy one of these? Thanks!

I would suspect that if anyone will buy it will depend largely on the price

I didn't use cctv cabling for my system, but jsut curious as to what issue's arise? I'm talking on short under 100 foot runs?

Hello, i am looking at a dvr which has no loop out connections, can i use t-connectors to create a loop or will this result in a loss of quality? Thanks!
-
Thanks for all the help, so i guess i would need at minimum 2 outputs and whatever inputs. Or can i use something like this in conjunction with the t-adapter? http://cgi.ebay.com/4-4-4x4-Composite-BNC-Video-Booster-Extender-Amplifier-/360241333796?cmd=ViewItem&pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item53e00e8624 or will that still give me bad results?

What i'm trying to get done, is to have the camera feed into a dvr, and then into a axis 241q ip encoder, they will be probably 2 feet apart, so its not a big distance that needs to be travelled. Thanks!
-
OK, Thanks for all the info, i guess i will have to do some more reading and see exactly what i will need to get, to bad all companies don't put loop outputs on equipment, would make it alot easier.

Well 1/2 signal is ~ 3 db, hence i would need a minimum 6 db amp to keep signal same as before i split it right? So if i want to split it 3 times, i would need a 10 db amp or so? Or am i missing something thats what i'm not quite understanding here. I have a multiplexor but its only 1 in/out so it doesn't really help much in my equation, as i would need at minumum 1 in and 2 outs. The reason i was asking what frequency the camera output is on, is that normal catv amps in the 7/14/whatever db variety will typically amp 55-1000 mhz forward, and then the reverse ie back to the plant is the 5-54 mhz, if it falls within that frequency, then one of those amps should work to boos the signal. Thanks! Where did you get idea about "7db" or 54 mhz ? All you need 1 IN 2 OUT Video Distributor or any other combination http://lmgtfy.com/?q=1+IN+2+OUT+Video+Distributor http://lmgtfy.com/?q=Video+Distributor

Thanks for all the replies, I guess that brings me to anonther question, where can i get an amp for cctv then? I would need at least well i guess 2 outputs or 7db amp, ideally 12 or so? Can the inputs be overdriven? What frequency does it run on? Is it under 54 mhz? If not i have lots of catv amps that should work for that purpose. Thanks!

Hello, i have a bosch 495 flexidome IP Cam model #NWD-495V03-20P As far as i know its new, it still has plastic on the dome, my problem is, my dvr does not support IP cams, hence i would like to trade it for anonther dome which is not strictly an IP cam. I have tested it and it works fine.. Ideally i would like to trade it for a 495 non IP cam version... but if anyone is intrested let me know what ya got I tested it and it works great.. just won't work great on my system Thanks!

In case anyone needs to know later, it seems to work fine whike powered up, now it switches to night mode like i want it to.

I just got a quick question on these, to change some settings they have dip switches, does the power have to be off to switch them or can i switch them while they are on? Thanks!

Angus replied to soamz's topic in General Digital Discussion
Somewhere between 10-10000 dollars price cant be simply quoted as it will cost you xxx dollars to do that you want, you need to know what cameras you want to put in, and then find your supplier for them.. and then factor in cabling power supplies etc.... if you want a total final price, find a local dealer and have him do a quote -
I got one of those blenders.. although i havent tried that i can say they work very well..

I have a question for this, i have a 12 volt 2 amp PS, will the lower amperage just cause it to be dimmer? Or could it cause it to have some kind of harmfull effect? Will this work for this illuminator? The area i want to illuminate isnt to big.. hence the lower output would actaully be preffered. Thanks! -
Hello, i have a question, i recently received a Bosch nwd 495, reading the spec sheet it says that it has bnc out, however it seems that it only has a 2.5mm monitor adapter which i would need the cable for.. So i guess the question is.. where can i get such a cable? And will it be full resolution? As right now i dont have a NVR so the IP portion isn't exactly what i'm after as id rather run the bnc into my dvr Thanks! Specs here http://resource.boschsecurity.com/documents/NWD495FlexiDome_DataSheet_enUS_T3861298059.pdf

Hello, i was wondering if anyone has used these camera's? I am trying to see if they would work good on a farm/acerage project. Basically they want to be able to monitor the animals, and the driveway.. colour is not an issue in this sense. I have tried search but could not find to much info on them other then that they are a few years old.. but i found a good deal so trying to see if they would be acceptable. Thanks!
