It doesnt change the default, It just adds a new host to select from. I've found the only way to change the default is to reinstall the program.

Im using GV 1248. We recently had our ip changed, and now i can no longer access the cameras remotely. Does anyone know what settings (and where they are located) i need to change in order to fix this? Any help would be appreciatted, thanks!

I fixed it. The problem was i needed to open port 80 on my router.

I did try that as well, it displays Web Page not available. ive also tried the current public ip... that didnt work either

its not 100% solved yet... i can access the cameras remotely if im in the same network. However, when i go home and try to access it, it wont connect. i think im using the wrong ip address still...

Found a solution. It wont change the default ip but will add a new host. When multiview is open, click "add hosts" (3rd button from right) select New and add information, when you exit and re-enter multiview, the new host should be available to select everytime. hope this helps, it helped me.

i am also having this same problem. using DMMultiView 8120. How do you change the default ip ?

By wan side you mean using the public ip address? ive tried that... ive used WAN IP 192.168.2.101, public ip, LAN IP... router is Linksys RVS4000, fw V1.1.09 edit: Also, when i do use the WAN IP, it just continues to diplay "Connecting to Server" unless i kill the process. As when i tried the others it said cant connect. EDIT 2: I fixed it! thanks gamba. it was the Wan ip that i needed, also i needed to use the default 4550 and open that port on the router. some stupid guide told me to use 3550 no matter what the default was...

this is what i have done so far, and still no luck... i registered DNS, i forwarded port 3550 on my router, i set up the remote authentication. now when i open DMMultiView v8120, i enter my hostname as the ip. and use ports command: 3550 (tried 4550 default as well) data: 5550 aurdio: 6550 http: 80 What am i doing wrong ?
