It seems I was using the wrong software version. Now I used d4dr and it worked. Just connected the HD to my PC reformatted again and transferred files to the HD. then put it back into the DVR and switched it on. everything installed and it's running fine now. Though I need to find a version of Network viewer & PC playback that will run on Windows7 64bit. Any help there would be great!.

Hi Need help with my D4 unit. I need to confirm the correct software version for re-installing the OS. I tried to add files I thought were correct to the new harddrive and the DVR will unzip them. but then all that happens is the screen flashes green for a few seconds then it reboots and stops at the bootloader halt screen again. My DVR is a................. D4A-DX4C-40GB SERIAL No.................. A1X041701003 number on PCB are.... D4DRC1 that is above where "dedicated Micros" is stamped on the PCB there is another number on the PCB which is EC4492. This is also on the PCB near the power plug for the Harddrive. I have installed a 160gb HD formatted to FAT32 file system. I used 160GB cos this was a spare drive I had been using as a network storage device. I know the IP address for the DVR and when I tried to use FTP.exe included with the software I get a timeout error.Though I can see the DVR network lights working when I try FTP.
