Thanks for the quick reply, yes in system manager I only have com port 1 and, com port 2, with the RS converter in com port one, nothing else shows up in system manager

I've just acquired a cheap Chinese PTZ camera, (DM-3007-5) but can't get it to work in Geovision 8.5, I have tried pelco P and pelco D protocols but nothing seems to move the camera I have it connected to a RS485 converter in Com port one,

I am having problems with my sky uk Sagemcom F@ST2504n router and ports, when I click on geovision 8.5 software to open the ports it finds my router successfully and configer the ports successfully, I can then view my cameras remotely, but when the router reboots all the settings are lost! Anybody know why?

Thanks mate it works great -
How do I got about setting up remote view, so I can do my cameras anywhere without a static IP address, all the ports on my router are open,? geo 8.5 software. thanks

I managed to get it working ok right click on the geovision EXE file and click on properties and always open as administrator, it will open just as quick as XP then, but I've gone back to windows XP, as Geovision software takes up a lot of memory, 700+ Meg.
-
To be honest no it was running ok on XP, it's just I had a bit of spare time on my hands, so thought I would give it a go, but looks like I might go back to XP.

I've just decided to upgrade my Windows-based DVR to Windows 7 ultimate 32bit, I am running a genuine GV 800 card with version 8.4 software, it takes absolutely ages for the geovision software to start, is this normal for Windows 7 ?
-
How many IP cameras can you run from a 16 channel GV 800 card with 8.3.3 software?
-
did it work only with the software supplied with the card? Have you tried official software downloaded from geovision or elsewhere? As the software you had with your card may have been hacked to allow it to work with a pirate card! I know this through experience with GV 600 a friend bought on eBay, it would only work with the supplied software, and he had the same problem as you when he tryed using official software.

looks like a FAKE card!
