    geovision 8 motion detection

Yes version 8 seems a lot more sensitive, I have had to turn the sensitivity down to number two on my system, with 7.05 it was set at 6
  2. Looks fine to me, love noseing it your premises considering I'm in the UK it was a fascinating, if anyone else got any sites and passwords let me a nose
  3. How do I go about setting up SMS alerts through geo 7.05. my phone is a Nokia 3230 any advice would be much appreciated.

  5. I am trying to get my CCTV viewable online, all the ports on the router are open, I can see the cameras successfully on my network but not from anyone else's computer, what's the best way to do it? PS GV-800 software version 7.05
  6. I've got it working now thanks all for your replys
  7. I have just seen a setting in my router dynamic DNS I have just enabled it and set up the host name username password etc I don't know if it will do any good
  8. For some strange reason my GV 800 PC is now on 192.168.0.2 on my network, the router I'm using is a netgear DG834G. In services on the router the following ports are open 80 / 4550 / 5550, in the routers firewall settings they are set to allow always. In the Geovision software I have TCP and WebCam switched on, I have disabled Mcafee firewall.
  9. I have just set up an account with "Dyndns.com" Everything seemed to set up ok but when I enter the name I used (URL) it points straight at my router not my CCTV PC (I have three PCs all networked together)
  10. Have you solved your problem? If not continue reading.... When you mentioned that you are entering the IP address of "192.168.0.3" do you mean that is the IP address you are entering to access the CCTV system from the Internet? Or are you mentioning that is the IP address you have configured your router to forward HTTP request to? If that is the IP address that you are entering to access the CCTV system from the Internet it is incorrect. You will need to enter the public IP address that has been assigned to your network from your Internet service provider. You can find out the public IP address by looking at the status page in your routers configuration. If you are using a GeoVision system you might want to consider configuring the DDNS application so that you can just enter a fully qualified URL instead of an IP address. If you are using another type of CCTV system you should take a look at http://www.dyndns.com/. Dyndns.com can be used to configure a dynamic dns name for your IP address that will allow you to use a URL instead of an IP address. Dyndns.com offers a free service that you can configure up to 5 free dynamic names and other services. Good Luck. Yes I was using 192.168.0.3 to access my cameras on the Internet, I just tried entering the IP address that has been assigned by my ISP to my mobile phone with the software installed on my phone (symbian phone) but I get a connection failed.
  11. Yes it is a netgear router
  12. Thanks for all your help, it must be what you said, my ISP is AOL, looks like I'm going to have to install their software on my DVR, PC to get this up and running, one more quick question can I select which cameras I get alerts from? As I can't see anything in the settings.
  13. Okay but pop is incoming and SMTP is outgoing with any e-mail client such as Outlook
  14. are you trying to use Yahoo as the SMTP server --------- Yes!!! thank you for clearing that up, but I'm surprised it doesn't work with Yahoo as i use Ms Outlook to pick up and send all my e-mails. Will it work with Ms Hotmail?
  15. 19 reviews and no one able to comment?
  16. Thank you for the reply, I currently have Mcafee firewall running do i need to uninstall this? Also I entering the IP address of the gv-800 PC which is 192.168.0.3 that is what I have been given by the router, is this correct or do I enter the IP address?

  20. I have recently upgraded from GV 600 to a GV 800 the problem I am having is with the GV 800 card if I have the display on my monitor anything above one camera, example four camera setting so I can see four cameras at the same time, it crashes and the geovision software restarts, (this can happen in any way between the few minutes to a few hours) but it is ok if I leave it in a single view mode, I never had this problem with the GV600 card can anybody help? software 7.05

frame rate to 15 FPS GV-600

If i just leave the one camera on, it seems to be ok, but I set the frame rate to 15 FPS. But if I view the files through Windows media player it seems speeded up, so if I right click on properties. It says 30 FPS, is this normal? GV-600

    Problems with a geovision GV-250 and GV-600

I just leave the one camera on Channel 2 it seems to be reasonably ok, I set the frame rate to 15 FPS. But if I view the files through Windows media player it seems speeded up, so if I right click on properties. It says 30 FPS, is this normal?
  24. A mate of mine, which works were a security company, recently brought up for me to try a geovision GV-250. I installed this in my PC system, which is a P4 2ghz processor, 512 meg ram, 64meg G force 2 graphics card, and a 200 gig maxtor HD. It was running a great for a week, then it started to play up, the picture is all messed up with horizontal lines all the way through it. It looks a black-and-white (in daytime). So thinking it might have been the card he then put in a GV-600 card, but it's exactly the same! He doesn't know what it is. That is why I am asking for advice here! It is not the camera as it works fine, when plugged into a TV or my cheap and nasty 4 ch DVR card. We have tried different versions of the geovision software form v6.0 to 7.4 but it is the same. I have also formatted, the PC reinstalled everything from scratch, but still the same, tryed a different camera don't get the horizontal lines, but the video is very choppy with pinky red pixels are all over the picture. Any help would be much appreciated. PS: the cards were tried in a different PC with the same happening!

    Problems with a geovision GV-250 and GV-600

A few days ago, my mate brought up a decent camera for me to try, the colour and quality is very good, but I still have the problems with the frames per second. I have ticked/and unticked smart, set the maximum frames per second to 25, and also 30 frames per second, but it still runs as if it is running at 1-2 frames per second, that how bad it is, I did have it running Nearly like real-time, but when I rebooted the PC. It went back to being slow. I don't get this problem with my cheap 4 ch ebay card.
