Problems with connecting DVR to laptop (AVTECH KPD-672/674)
WendyT posted a topic in Digital Video Recorders
Hi, I am having problem when connecting my laptop (Toshiba Satellite M-30) to ACTEVH DVR KPD 672 and KPD - 674. When I logged in, it returns "login failed!". I have set all the IP stuff, which commonly works with other DVR, except AVTECH DVR. Please kindly help me through this. Thank you very much. Regards, WendyT -
AVC760 should be a discontinued product. Better use KPD-674 or AVC 794.

Try to disconnect the HDD, maybe the HDD is faulty.. -
It depends really on the usage and environment. I have some customers that have their DVR broke down below 1 year. Some can maintain it for several years...

I am using DynDNS server to update my Dynamic IP through Linksys WRT54GH. It worked well for couple of months, but now I found that the DDNS is not running, with a status "An unexpected server error : badagent !". Why is it so? Can somebody help me? WendyT
-
Yes, it exists. I have checked the username, domain and password..

Hi, does anyone know what is the best router for setting DVR for remote view? I have used WRT54GH for the last couple of weeks. But suddenly, the DDNS service states that "An unexpected server error : badagent !" Thanks. WendyT

What do you mean by "DDNS server you are using works?"?

I have a 4 Channel DVR (made in china). It should be one of the most economical DVR. I have set up the IP and I manage to connect it via LAN (by going to the DVR IP0. Then I set up a DynDNS account, open all the ports (in this case 3356, 3357, 3358 , 3360 and 80) and set up DDNS setting in my Linksys Router. FYI, I connect my DVR through a router and a modem. When I tried to connect my DVR from internet by going to ....dyndns.org. I was directed to my modem, instead of the DVR. Anyone encountered this problem before? Thank you for trying to help me. Regards, WendyT

I am using Linksys WRT54GH as my router. So, in the port-forwarding section of my router, I port forwarded all those 5 ports (80, 3356, 3357, 3358, and 3360).
-
Hi.. So, I should not port-forward port 80 in my router? I thought the DVR needs me to port-forward all the 5 ports? Thanks. WendyT

Problems with connecting DVR to laptop (AVTECH KPD-672/674)
WendyT replied to WendyT's topic in Digital Video Recorders
I am using both IE and VideoViewer. I have done all the port forwarding stuff. The weird thing is that I can connect to my DVR when using my home PC, but when I use my laptop, it returns login failed. Does that mean that this series of DVR is not compatible to some laptop? I heard that KPD 67x series is having some problems with the internet connection. Is it true? What is the problem? WendyT -

Sorry about that, I am connecting it through LAN not Internet. Laptop and the DVR are on the same network. Regards, WendyT
