Or just use Firefox. Slimbrowser is good if you need some IE compatability.

Arecont Vision 3 megapixel cameras
DingChavez replied to GrahamM's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
I have 8 of them running in our lab on our DVR. Their cameras are great. I have noticed that Arecont and IQinvision's cameras are very sensitive when adjusting the lenses though which is quite annoying. -
If you have to ask if it is good or not, it probably isn't. No one is coming onto this board asking if Pelco makes good camera.

3 days or 250GB? What kind of file size does the DVR compress the video to? Does it compress at all or just leave it at whatever the camera did? Either way, your application must be extremely busy with lots of activity or your file size is too large. I have a feeling its the latter.

This is a bit of self-promotion, but EL's ETV is available in 32 channels with 16 channels of audio. It seems a lot of people on this board are always after what is the cheapest. Going for the cheapest isn't always the best way to go. If it was, everyone would be griving Geo Metros.

High Resolution, what is the definition?
DingChavez replied to jisaac's topic in General Digital Discussion
Lower end companies are pretty good at making their specs look good when the camera quality is not so good. Some will say they have a 1/3" Sony Super Had, but they fail to mention its a C -grade chip plus its S/N ratio is terrible. -
High Resolution, what is the definition?
DingChavez replied to jisaac's topic in General Digital Discussion
When a customer calls me up, and needs high res, its usually a camera with at least 480TVL. Standard res being 380TVL. Or are you talking about pixels? -
Oops. I assumed it was a D/N camera. I didn't see it was a B/W. It is very similar to the camera line EL has.
-
Those cameras have a software IR cut filter, plus you are using an inferior chipset (Super Had vs ExView vs HQ). The halo is a common problem on IR cameras, especially when they don't have anything to reflect off of. So the only light you see is what reflects off the plastic lense cover.

Has anyone heard of Electronics Line? I was told they have good POS but I have not seen it personally. Any thoughts?
