  1. I have a small 300sq ft office and need a 2 camera system. Both cameras will be indoors with good 24hr lighting. One camera will be at the front door to see who is coming into the office, and the 2nd inside the office. I originally was looking into an analog system, but after doing some research it seems as if an IP system will give me better coverage and better clarity. I need to "monitor" the one at the front door the most, and have it display on a 23" HD computer monitor. I have been looking at cameras of at least 1.3 megapixels and with POE. I have been looking at the following cameras and Im curious as to the feedback, and possible other camera suggestions. Id like to stay at about 350.00 max per camera. Thanks a ton!! Vivotek IP7160 Vivotek IP7138 Axis 207MW ACTi ACM-4201
  2. I would also agree the Q24 is great camera but if you need to cover 2 different areas it will not work. Yes the Vivotek has local SD recording but it is nothing like the Mobotix solution. With Vivotek you will be looking though folders to find the images you are looking for which can be very tedious and time consuming. Mobotix has NVR software that uses the SD cards as storage location and/or you can use the web browser. Also none of the cameras you listed are rated for outdoor use without a housing so don't forget to add that into your price. I would recommend the ACTi-4201 indoors and the ACTi-4711 or ACTi-1231 for outside. viewtopic.php?f=22&t=20564 Thanks for the feedback!! All camera are indoors, and I planned on using the Vivotek NVR software that it comes with and a stand alone desktop PC to run it. This will be more of a monitor system with the inside camera doing most of the recording. I really like the 4201 also, from what ive seen has crisp images.
  3. its a neat camera for sure, their whole line is pretty amazing, but its a little out of my budget. it will be cheaper than 2 ip cameras plus you dont need a pc for storage of footage. it has sd card onboard. so 2 ip cameras 1 pc against 1 all in one camera. and install costs mobotix 20mins and installed i need 2 cameras as I need one to cover the door outside of my office and another camera inside office. The Vivotek IP7160 has local recording via SD card and I can get two cameras for under 600.00

  5. I'm in the diamond business. I am about to move to a small 300sqft office on the first floor of a nice Class A office building. I am the sole employee and I have very little traffic in my office, maybe 5 clients a week with no more then 3 total people in the office at a time. I need a simple system with no more then 4 cameras, 3 is probably sufficient. One for the front door, one on me and clients at desk and another for my safe. Can anyone give some suggestions on design and maybe recommend relatively inexpensive package? That would be helpful. Please feel free to ask any questions. I was looking at this Intellipix package but not sure if its too much for what I need? Here is a "blueprint" of my office if that helps. Thanks for your help!! Jason
