For Sale: GV-650 Card and software version 8.01 The card was purchased because I was going to use it for my house. I have out grown the card capacity (4 ports) and moved on to something else. It was used for approximately 4 months. There are software upgrades available but I'm not exactly sure what version you can go up to with this card. Cost - $150 plus shipping costs. Paypal accepted.

I have a GV650 4 channel that I would let go. What are you thinking. I have the box, the book and version8.01 CD included. It was only used for a few months as an evaluation. It is legit. Bob

If that camera has ftp capabilities you don't need any software. Set it up to ftp an image to a ftp server once a day.

CCTV Customers want Access Control
Bob replied to sbbamafan's topic in General Access Control Discussion
Having experiance with about 10 different access control systems over the last 12 years I would say my humble opinion is to go with a really simple system like Keri or Keyscan. Or go with a system that is able to grow like Software House. It really depends on your customers needs. Do yourself a favor. Check out several different systems. You need to be a dealer for Software house. Edit: I almost forgot about S2...Duh. It is a really cool web based system that works very well. No server needed. It's all in the panels. (Apparently one of the key people from software house previously, is involved heavily with S2) -
Anyone use Hartman Access Control?
Bob replied to shermaniiv's topic in General Access Control Discussion
I have not but recently did a job with a company that did. They seemed to like it. It was a very simple system similar to a Northern or Keyscan panel. -
I believe the pin hole is for DST settings. Call tech support and they can help you. You probably have to give the DVR the 3 or 4 finger salute on power up.

Axis video encoders + Pelco Spectra III w/ Coaxitron?
Bob replied to versello's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
He could use the Q4704.... It has individual connectors for each RS-422. The CM9760CXTA only has a single RS422 input to 16 looping Coaxitron outputs, it would be easiest if he used a multichannel encoder that has a single RS422 output for all PTZ's, otherwise he will need a RS422 data merger to feed all the encoder outputs to one input on the CM9760CXTA. I've used these in the past to allow a DVR to control multiple Coaxitron cameras, should work the same with encoders. I have also used the 9760 to do the same thing. They work well and are the best solution to the problem. -
Enterprise level systems. What's your favorite?

Verint Nextiva -
You can use Locknetics (Schlage) 510 or 515 power supply with their DCM modules to do the interlock. There are some examples on their website that allow the interlock to operate separately and still interface with the access control system. Call them and they will be able to get you going. Their supplies are a bit pricey but work well.

The unit was used for about 1 year. Price $3000 plus shipping. (Continental US Only) Paypal accepted. http://www2.panasonic.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ModelDetail?displayTab=O&storeId=11201&catalogId=13051&itemId=131559&catGroupId=40051&surfModel=WJ-ND300A/1000V Unit was too big for application. I decided on a lower cost option.

Getting Black screen using Panasonic WVNS202
Bob replied to gcoolw's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Try removing and reinstalling the viewer software. Download the latest from panasonic's website. -
If I had to make the choise I would use the HD220. Smaller, less power consumption. The HD500 series used to swallow Hard Drives due to Heat Issues. The newer HD309 and HD316 would be a better comparison depending on how many cameras you need. They are pricey. They are both browser based but the internal "Web Pages" are very different. The HD220 is cleaner than the HD500. The 500, 500A usually means there was a hardware revision change between units but they usually have the same functionality or the later une had more functionality. This is true with most of the Panasonic CCTV stuff. The HD500 was the first reliable DVR solution (Compared to PC running Windows 98). For it's time it was awesome. The HD220 came later. New install? Why not go IP and use an ND300A or ND200?

Panasonic up-the-coax control question
Bob replied to skigeoff02's topic in Video Transmission/Control Devices
You need the Panasonic WJ-NT304 or WJ-NT314 encoders. They will provide UTC control and provide an MPEG4 and MJPEG stream. The 304 has no VMD or analyitcs built in. If you need VMD then the 314 is what you need. -
Spectra III's always show the PTZ settings and address on power up. This will go away when the PTZ is moved. Is there a KD300A or something to control the PTZ's?

Where can I find a 4 port RCA Video wall plate?
Bob replied to jsavchak's topic in General Digital Discussion
Home depot sells the RCA QuickPort inserts. RadioShack sells the QuickPOrt BNC inserts, they are like$5 each though. -
I have been having a problem with my GV650 system Blue Screening. This is the error I get: Hardware Malfunction Call Your Vendor for Support NMI: Parity Check / Memory Parity Error The SYstem has Halted Has anyone seen this error before? I have ran 2 different memory checkers with success and contacted Geo tech support. They replied with a bunch of questions and I answered them and have yet to hear anything back. It seems to happen randomly.

Looking for a low profile (Half height ) PCI or PCI express DVR card that can handle 4 cameras at 30 or 60 fps and 640 X 480. I checked Geovision and couldn't find any. I would even go for an external device (USB) if there is a quality product that is reliable. Does anyone have any suggestions?

go into display properties, settings, advanced, monitor... and change the horizontal refresh to 60 Hz.

I think GV starts when the "mulitcam auto start" item in the startup menu is run. I am new to this also so I could be wrong. I would have windows start and then lock.

There are some links on the main page or you can check here: http://www.geovision.com.tw/english/7_0.asp

I have just built a GV-650 system. I like the system overall but there seems to be multiple ways of doing things in the software and also with different pieces of software. In your opinion what is the best component (Software Piece) to review video on the local machine or over a LAN. I have browsed the manual briefly and have plans to print and read the whole thing (309 Pages..ouch) and I can't distinguish the differences between certain software components. I am looking for something similar to the review and export functionality of other DVR's I have worked with (Adpro FastTrace, Integral DVX, 3r, CoVi etc. This was a very simple installation overall al long as you do your homework. I used a Compaq dc7600 Small Form Factor computer with onboard Intel Video (950), 2.8G HT proc, 512 DDR2 RAM. Originally is was looking for a half Height PCI DVR card but I found that Compaq makes a PCI riser for this PC...lucky me, the PC was given to me beacuse of its limited upgradeability. I also wanted to thank those who make these forums work and spend so much time giving information to the rest of us who need it. I have been spending more time browsing here and hope that I can help others the way I have been helped. Having been in the industry for only 6 -7 years I still have a lot to learn, places like this make that possible, especially working for a small company where training is sometimes non-existant. Thanks To All. Bob
