IP Camera and Router woes
Boxcleva replied to Boxcleva's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Hi , Yeah , it doesnt recognize the camera locally. It did do very breifly , but still didnt display pictures. When i tried to configure it , it would even accept the default username and password -
I previously bought a Video Webserver and even with help from a lot of people on here I just couldnt get the thing to work. Thinking an IP camera would be an easier option I bought a Aviosys IP Kamera 9060a. It comes with its own software and you supposedly connect it to your router (Dlink DSL G604T) and you can access it. Nope!! The software just doesnt recognize the existence of the camera. Here is what I have tried: I have set the Ip address of the camera in the same range as the router Have uninstalled / reinstalled the software several times Disabled ALL security on the Router , Firewall etc Disabled all security on my PC Reset the router more times than i care to mention Disbaled and renenabled DHCP setting on router. Am really losing the will to live with this damn thing its driving me crazy. If someone can restore my sanity I would be eternally grateful Thanks Box

Heres the explanation for the block always bit (which you cant adjust) Any inbound traffic which is not allowed by rules you create will be blocked by the Default rule. BLOCK rules are only useful if the traffic is already covered by an ALLOW rule. (That is, you wish to block a sub-set of traffic which is currently allowed by another rule.) To define the Schedule used in these selections, use the "Schedule" screen.

Telnet opens a new box , but no failure or success message , just blank. I have hosted the following screenshots. http://www.members.aol.com/huggy757844/inbound.JPG http://www.members.aol.com/huggy757844/outbound.JPG http://www.members.aol.com/huggy757844/overview.JPG dns addy - boxlceva1.dyndns.org Hope that helps. thanks

Rory , I have enabled DMZ as suggested , and I have set the lan ip for port forwarding to 'any' and 'allow always'. Still no go. And yeah, I am using the 192.168.1.1 address when i try and connect with the server software.
-
thanks Rory. That is all done. And if i type 192.168.1.1 into IE i get the screenb where I download the application software. But if i try to connect using the software it errors out. Also , when i type in my dns address from dyndns.org i get my router login screen coming up ???
