  1. I was asked to find a cheap and easy to use CCTV solution for a private home. With a budget on $600, I found the Monacor dmr-140, with 4 channels 50/60 fps (Pal/NTSC) total. Out of the box, this unit does not have a harddrive, but supports saving through the net interface etc. I bought a 500gb SATA disc, and fittet it in the Monacor dmr-140, in the build-in HDD-slot. Turned the unit on, and clicked ok to format the disc - Few minuts after the unit was ready. The software in the Monacor dmr-140, is excactly the same, as in my own older Avermedia DVR-recorder - Just a newer version ofcourse. Easy to find out, and after only 20 min setup, I had tweaked everything setup as it should be, with motion detection zones etc. The unit has a html access feature, and also acces with DxClient (or PCviewer) The system is running with 4 Swan SW311 - Not a camera I love, but for this project it was fine (and easy to get) The Monacor dmr-140 comes with a 5x12v splitter, so you only need 1 power supply for all your cameras, and the DVR unit. All in all I think this unit is value for the money. At a $200 price, I don't think you can get anything else, that is so easy to setup, and use (correct me if im wrong) But features like playback while recording, is not possible. You have to pause the recording, to watch playback. Total cost for this unit, 4 cameras, a 500gb disc and all cables $560 ! It took me 2 hours to install all cameras, and setup the DVR unit - Almost to easy

    Monacor dmr-140 runthrough

First of all, you don't get that I DONT COMPARE IT WITH THE AVERMEDIA! In the Monacor software, you can set 2 channels to 25/30 fps, and if you are using all 4, 12/15 fps. A image and a frame is the same - also in the uk. I learn everything I can - But why should listen to you, when you are wrong? Be a man, and accept that you are wrong, and stay out of my posts! I can write in my signature that you should not write in my postes? Is that easier for you?

you can report me to ever you want. read the post you are the nasty one. all as i am doing is letting people who read this forum that the dvr you say runs avermedia software does not. and that the information you have posted about that dvr is also inaccurate. and also from your link the spec of your dvr. please (see i said please) read it. Video Output Channel 1 channel Composite BNC NTSC 120 frames/second 4×30 frames/second Display Frame Rate PAL 100 frames /second 4×25 frames/second NTSC Max.30 fps (Quad) Quad Mode Recording Frame Rate PAL Max.25 fps (Quad) Quad Mode NTSC Each Channel = 30 fps ÷ Number of Cameras Max. 30 frames/s (Total) Recording Frame Rate (Each Mode) PAL Each Channel = 25 fps ÷ Number of Cameras Max. 25 frames/s (Total) And the 25/30 fps is still the max pr. channel - It has a total on 50/60 fps!!! Im the nasty one? You are the one attacking me every time I write a post here! I have the facts right - and had hands on both units - wich you obviously never had!

    Monacor dmr-140 runthrough

And I will say it a 3rd time, specially for you! THE MONACOR DMR-140 RUNS THE SAME SOFTWARE AS MY AVERMEDIA EB1004. In the link I supplied, it's cleary written 50 fps. In the software, you have 50/60 fps to do with. The 25/30 fps is what you can set each camera to MAX (if you only uses 2 camera, you can set them to 25/30 fps) The Monacor DMR-140 has a total on 50/60 fps - End of discussion! Get your facts right! I have reported you for inappropriate behaivoir.

    Monacor dmr-140 runthrough

Again you do not read what people write! I do not write anything about it's like the Avermedia, I write that it runs the same software! like or runs the aver software is the same thing. and no it does not run the avers software. and i did read your post. would you like me to point out your mistakes. you say 50/60 fps that dvr cant do that. 7 fps max. so explain why you think its the same as the avers. and the reason why i replied to your post is so as others can see it is not the same as the avers. and also it is a very poor dvr for $200 I have before asked you to stay out of my threads - And yet you don't! THE MONACOR DMR-140 RUNS THE SAME SOFTWARE AS MY AVERMEDIA It has a total FPS on 50/60 ( http://www.monacor.dk/produkter/overvaagning-hdrecorder/vnr/181880/ ) And again - Stay out of my threads! I don't wanna use my time on discussing with you! Everytime I write anything, you attack me! Get a life!

    Best camera for the money

I need 12-16 cameras for our store. We are running a 16-ch Geovision system, but only with 4 cameras right now. The cameras we have, are B/W and we would like to upgrade to color. Most camera, will have to record in a 2-6 meter range, both in day and night. So IR light would be nice. 2-3 cameras will be outsite (I have housing for them) I bought for testing purpose, a $20 no-name dome camera at ebay ($20 with shipping) It works fine at short range, and the IR are impressive. But the image is a lot alike the cameras we have now (pixelated) Please hit me with some exampels! Used items also have interest!

Just a little follow up. The CNB DFL-20s is a indoor only cam. Does CNB not have one that is weaterproof, but not cost $150 ?

    Vista VC16Te-320 (Norbain)

I now had some time to play around with this unit. Everything works fine, except the web interface. There is no problem in finding the unit on the network, and I get a login screen in my browser(s) but when login in, I just get a "page not found" message. This is the adress after the login: http://192.168.1.110/wrcontrollite.ssi Any ideas what could be wrong? I only bought this unit, because it was in an auction, with 12 cameras. I got the whole thing, for under what the cameras would cost.
  11. Hi I just got my fingers on a VC16Te-320 (16-channel DVR record) http://www.norbain.co.uk/products/ref:0092650/ First of all, does anyone know, if this unit is a B/W ? I can not get any color on my cameras. (and yes, they are colorcameras) Second, the password in the manual, does not match, and im not able to log in as "installer" to set up the system, any ideas here? To reset the system to factory settings, you should log in with a password, and that does not work either. I got this unit, and 13 color cameras with irs, for under what the cameras cost them self.

    IR for lens mount

Hi Im looking for some IR lights I can mount on 3-4 of our cameras (the outdoors) The cameras (Vista VPC9032) are quite light sensitive, and have much better picture in the night, than some of the IR mounted cameras we have. But I would like to make them even better. I have tried to find some on Ebay, but can only find them as dome-camera part, and a total new lens. What would you do here?
  13. Hi Im installing 16 cameras around our store, and need something handheld, that I can use to focus the cameras with, eg. when im up on a ladder. Are there any handheld monitors, with BNC or RCA input that I can use? Or do you have any suggestions for easy focusing?
  14. I have tried to get the web-viewer to work on my Android phone, with no luck. In the standard browser, and Firefox, it shows the webclient fine, but not the login screen. The CCTV software, supports other programs to log in, and stream the video signal, but I have not found any apps for android, supporting this. Any ideas ? I took apart the 7" TFT monitor I had, and today I will try to get the signal on it. It has a flatcable input, and on the PCB they are marked as eg. "Video" "DVD" "+" I suppose that I will have to put the plus signal from my Powersupply on +, and Ground on the common ground on the PCB. And the same with the videosignal. The LCD only uses 3-4v input, so I can easy make with no wired powersupply.
  15. It's Vista VPC9032 I found a picture of the back:
  16. Ya, my fault - Was thinking wrong. The cameras has a 3-pin connector on the back, with the marks "+" and a symbol that looks like a broom, and a "V" Don't know if that say something?
  17. Wow! Many answers! I found these, but think that I can get the same result, with a DVD player screen from a car, that I have laying around. http://cgi.ebay.com/Portable-2-5-TFT-LCD-Monitor-CCTV-Camera-Test-Tester-/120665916077?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item1c183fc2ad Untill now, I have also used the portable phone method, and it was a pain. The lenses on my cameras, has IRIS - Are there any wireless methods to this? Then I could put the wireless adapter on the camera im focusing, run into my office, and focus. Maybe it's easyer to find the sweetspot then? Thanks for all the replys! Think I hit a sweetspot question here

    Vista VC16Te-320 (Norbain)

I managed to guess the installer password, and have now changed it back to the original. I don't see any NTSC/PAL options in the software, but since the unit has been used in this country, it should be set to PAL.

    Vista VC16Te-320 (Norbain)

First of all, it uses a standard IDE harddrive, that cost about $35, and who talked about using money on the harddrive? The viewing software (wavereader) works even on windows 7!
  20. It is called Brennenstuhl BF 30000
  21. If you protect your PC and Camera powersupply with a lightning protected powersocket, and your network you should be safe. We just lost a Geovision GV800 due lightning, but have now protected with a special powersocket. I can give you a name on the device, it also have a network in/out and with a protection up to $40.000
  22. Due a thunderstorm, over normal standards - Our Geovision GV800 died. No local vendors had a Geovision card in stock, and there would go several weeks before we could get one. Therefore I had to purchase a "Safecare Korea" 16ch card. It was over half price of a GV800, and do the job fine. The software is pretty good, and much easier build than Geovision's. It took me only few hours to set everything up, with more features suited for our use. Well, to get to my problem. The server software, works fine over LAN. I have set up a dyndns for our CCTV system, and when using it on the same network as the server, it works fine. But when Im on a PC on a different network, it dosen't work. I have forwarded port 80, that is used for the webbased system, and if I install eg. Wamp Server, I can access that from another network, but no matter what I do, I can't access the CCTV server. Does anyone know to this software? And had similair problems? The software does not have a name, but it is this:

$50 is also very cheap for a camera, so I have no problem with that. Anyone have a suggestions, where I could get 12-16 pcs. at best price?

    How to avoid Burn-in

Hi Im running a Geovision system, with up to 16 cameras. Right now I only have 4 camera's active, and viewing it in 4 view-mode. To avoid a burn-in on the screen, would I like to change the 4 cameras around in the 4 fielts. Is that possible? Thanks
