Samsung SDE-4001 - How to increase live viewing resolution?
hayden replied to widgetboy's topic in Security Cameras
You don't tend to have any control on live display... I assume you are looking at 1 camera view! -
An obvious question, does the DVR support mobile phone? What model is it?
-
What DVR is it?

Welcome on board!!

Loop outputs allow you to take feed out from the DVR without degarding original quality. All DVRs are effectively include a "Matrix switch". This is where it records from camera 1 then 2 then 3 and so on.

Most DVRs have Alarm outputs which can be configured to give you an output whenever motion is detected. On Alarm outputs, by using relays you activate your lights and siren etc.

Hi, In my opinion, for the driveway you need a camera with 6mm lens or a vari-focal 4-9mm lens so that you get a good view of the drive. For the Front door, I would suggest an Eyeball camera with 3.6mm Lens. Likewise an Eyeball camera in the garage with 3.6mm Lens, mounted in the corner looking into the garage to avoid strong external light. With any camera, to get good identification you need to focus on small area. I always recommend you have one camera to pick-up the details and use others for general observation. Size of CCD does make a difference, the bigger the CCD the better it is. More surface to capture more light and detail. I have no experience of this DVR card.

It could mean what I call "trickle record"!. Where it records at very low frame rate but speeds up as it detects an event (motion or alarm).

Hi , The Camera module you mention is Genuine SONY FCB-EX480CP. It is a Day Night Module but has a resolution of 480TVL. The camera parameters are configurable on the module. Your PTZ housing should allow access to these options via some high level interface. As to the picture, it looks like a good picture. You will find the rainbow colours will disappear as you zoom-in. Reason for the rainbow effect is due to contrasting colours and bright light. Hayden

It does sound like the power supply is not up to the job. Try getting higher rated power supply.

Cameras with Dual lens have 2 CCD Modules with two seperate lens. These cameras have a noticeable difference.

I know this may sound strange, but Anti-freeze is very good for cleaning glass. It does not smear or leave streaks etc.
