Top section One recording PC + 2 IP cam (connected to PC through switch) + 1 switch + 1 wireless bridge (WLAN; bridge mode (get signal from bottom 2 wireless bridge; This devices can only be associated with valid MAC address, which are two bottom wireless bridge) Left bottom 5 IP camera (1-5) + 1 switch + 1 wireless bridge(shooting to Top wireless bridge) Right bottom 5 IP camera (6-10) + 1 switch + 1 wireless bridge (shooting to Top wireless bridge) workgroup switches 2 & 3 are connected through fast ethernetm not by wireless Q1) Is this spanning-tree? Bottom two switches are connected through fast ethernet cable. Top and bottom switch (right and left) are connected through wireless. In other words, if switch supports spanning-tree protocol, I can make top switch as root bridge and use spanning-tree? Q2) If i make workgroup switch 1 (top switch) as root bridge and enable spanning-tree for all workigroup switches 1, 2, 3 to join. Normally wireless bridge 2 streams only camera 1-5 and wireless bridge 3 streams only camera 6-10 independently? Q3) When wireless bridge 2 is dead, based on spanning-tree rule (top switch is root bridge), blocking port of switch will go through forwarding state between workgroup switch 2 and 3 through fast ethernet cable and through wireless bridge 3, it will steam all 10 cameras to wireless bridge 1? Q4) If Wireless bridge 2 is dead, is there any way to report to recording server, except SNMP? thanks for your time and knowledge.

1.3M (720P) 2M(1080P) why?

720P 1280 x 720 = 0.9M (why is it called? 1.3M) 1080P 1920 x 1080 = 2M (make sense) -

Way to test RS485 Port from DVR either PTZ cam
washingtonianCCTV posted a topic in Video Transmission/Control Devices
This is my knowhow but if you have more than this, please post it 1. measure DVR RS485 port while sending signal (zoom +-, focus) make sure, you get more than +-1.5V difference compared to normal voltage (w/o sending signal from DVR), if voltage difference is more than +-1.5V, DVR should be OK. 2. same thing to PTZ, but PTZ voltage difference is +-200mV (DVR +-1.5V) in other words, while sending signal from DVR to PTZ, if you measure PTZ side, you may read voltage difference. 3. Use Oscilloscope to measure voltage difference (voltage meter is not accurate to detect sensitive difference sometimes) 4. Buy RS485 Tester, which i don't like it because it is only measuring voltage difference. 5. Buy RS485 test utility, which I like to do, but very expensive, but you can get all information, real data, speed, baud rate etc. 6. Ask manufacturer for testing jig " title="Applause" /> -
Active X manual Installation
washingtonianCCTV posted a topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
ActiveX installation is headache. I dislike it. Now, I am making installation package for Netvison DVR, GeoVision DVR, Speco Technology and UNIX DVR. I grabed all cabinet files from each DVR, and open .inf file to see all DLL, ocx files. i.e Netvision DVR has DVRClient.ocx and many DLL files. for Netvison DVR, only DVRClient.ocx needs to be registered (regsvr32 DVRClient.ocx) and rest of DLL files need to be system32 folder (of course, DVRClient.ocx file is in the system32 folder) I tried to make all installation package. Now I have one problem (maybe not a problem) Once, I installed ocx file (regsvr32.exe) and copy & paste all DLL files in to system32. I don't get any message that "Publisher can't be verified, IE blocked...." However, now I got weried message from DVRs that "Install ActiveX xxx.ocx file" (Before I install my installation package, I got a message about xxx.cab file, but I got xxx.ocx file even if this ocx file registered successfully) As I know, ocx file is correctly installed through (regsvr32 xxx.ocx) but why still IE ask me to download ocx file from DVR again even if I registred and copy to system32 folder. any idea? Is it because of IE? I am using IE8. FYI, I tried also "trusted zone, level low, allow unsigned activex control download, etc" but still i need to download ocx file from DVR after installation. -
