    kkmoon camera firmware and support

My kkmoon camera has been streaming continuously for about 5 hours now without it malfunctioning once. All I did was to tilt back the antenna by about 50°! So, perhaps it has insufficient shielding to stop the wifi radio signal from inducing stray voltages in the wiring/PCB.

Have you tried it with the P2P app, or the stand alone PC Client (which I believe also connects using P2P), mine still seems stable when viewed with the P2P android app, but when viewing the RTSP stream using an RTSP/ONVIF client it does disconnect and partially crash if left long enough. At a guess, I'd suspect a bug somewhere in its RTSP server possibly causing a buffer overrun, rather than a hardware fault. Last camera of this type I bought (a 480p Wanscam) was faulty too, it suffered from an overheating problem and would constantly reboot unless the vents were held against a fan, fortunately I got a full refund on that.

    kkmoon camera firmware and support

I've got the same model, although with this cheap Chinese stuff that doesn't necessarily indicate it is the same internally. Firmware version 10.8.79.8900 build 2015.06.09 02:51 Mine also has an annoying habit of randomly tilting or panning when viewing the RTSP stream using VLC. Fortunately it doesn't happen that frequently, and the P2P apps haven't exhibited the same issue. I tried the Android apps from play store which work with it: Onvifer (pan and tilt are inverted), and P2PCam_HD, which I think might be the official android app. I tested the activex browser plug-in downloaded from http://down.54it.cn with IE on an XP virtual machine as I was reluctant to install the software on my pc, and it seemed to work ok with the camera I received. You may need to use compatibility mode to use it with a later version of IE. I cobbled together a webpage to provide basic support in Firefox using the VLC plug-in to display the stream, as I already had it installed. If it is any use you can find it here: http://pathogenrush.blogspot.co.uk/2016/01/kkmoon-805-ipcamera-webviewer.html
  4. Thanks for the reply, I'll have to check with the club secretary about that as they're getting less than 5 days worth of recording at 1½ frames per second per camera on the current 16 channel DVR. Thanks, but at the moment I'm mainly trying to get an idea of prices and good makes and models, so the committee can decide whether they can afford to replace them or not, and set an adequate budget.
  5. Hi, I'm looking into the cost of replacing an 8 and a 16 channel DVRs used in a local social club's two premises, with better, more practical units. The current DVRs are a cop security 15-vt16-CDRW and a 15-vt08-CDRW http://www.cop-eu.com/sections/specs/full_page_specs/index.php?product=15-VT16-CDRW&v=specs and were supplied as part of a bodged install by a security company that folded shortly after being paid. There are various issues with the existing units, such as the recording frame rates and storage capacity really aren't high enough. It takes 30 minutes or more to back-up less than 15 minutes of footage to a CD-R, and the back-ups tend to drop occasional frames on the 16 channel box and nearly all the frames recorded from two of the cameras on the 8 channel box. The DVR's netviewer software seems a beta at best, and is missing useful features such as not being able to set the frame rate when converting a camera view to an AVI, which means that the AVI's play back at about 40-50 times normal speed without further processing with third party software, and don't include the date or time. Also there doesn't seem to be an option to select a specific start time for playback over a lan connection, but only to play through one hour segments at normal speed. On the plus side they will record in D1, although the picture quality in both cif and D1 is poor - appears to be overly compressed. I'm after an 8 and a 16 channel DVR that can record on all cameras in d1 resolution at a rate of at least 6 frames per second per camera, although a higher frame rate might be desirable for the cameras covering the bar area. Ideally they'd need it to retain at least 7 days worth of footage, and 10 days would be desirable. And I want to be able to make a back-up of an incident at a reasonable speed, and have decent player software to review it on a PC and convert it to a format that can be taken away and viewed by the police - preferably still showing the date and time. It would also be desirable to have separate admin and user logins, and for it to keep a log of power offs, and user logins. Can anyone suggest any budget DVRs, or PC based DVR cards that are up to the job, and how much a suitable 16 channel DVR is likely to cost here in the UK? Thanks very much. Regards, Mel.
  6. Is that a Cop Security 15-VT04-CDRW (http://www.cop-eu.com/sections/ranges/DVRs/VT/index.php), and did you have any success with the DVD burner? I maintain an 8 and a 16 channel version of the above model 15-VT08-CDRW & 15-VT16-CDRW . Both have jamming CD burners which could use replacing, and I am hoping I can get away with replacing them with a couple of IDE DVD-burners, since CD burners are not so readily available these days? I'd assume however that even if they work, I'll still only be able to burn CDRs. Also have you had any problems with it since fitting a 500 gig hard drive, I need to fit a second IDE drive to the 16 channel box, as it currently only has a single 400GB drive fitted, and I was hoping that the recent 2016 fix firmware update might also have included support for 500GB hard drives (the stated max is only 2x 400GB), as 800GB still won't really give me enough record time at the desired frame rate.
