You answered your own question, its plenum RG59U which is thinner than regular and needs the correct BNC's -

Mount the dome to an electrical box and hide the connectors in the box -
Had a similar problem and found a termination problem, try switching to Hi-Z.

I thought Baxall's camera range were absorbed by Dedicated Micros, if so you could call them, -
The costs will mount up with doing wireless with service calls, interruption of signal etc. As you can see everyone is steering away from the wireless route. Also a locally recorded system might be an option, viewed only when there is an incident

Never done it but you may be able to install a balun to convert it to coax and use the Foresight VDS2500 product -

The older PTZ type cameras might have a large box (receiver) next them, this would be for the Pan, tilt and zoom breakout wiring. -

Bought a little pocket one from Radio Shack years ago and was the butt of many a joke, but still working and very handy. After all for Access and CCTV most of the time only need low volt AC/DC and Ohms. -
