  1. Your only going to get 5 FPS @ 1024x768 with that bandwidth and that's using H264 Compression

    DVR to PC

You only need a crossover cable if you are directly connecting the PC to DVR which means you would have no network and no remote connection
  3. Go1984 software allows play back via iPhone or iPad including thumbnails and a nifty calendar interface

Could use small IP Cameras, NVR Software and a 4 port POE Switch, would just need to power the switch

    Project help

Had a thought that there should be a new heading for members of the forum to find installation help. Lets say one Integrator is from one city or state and has a project in another, I think it would be a good idea to have a forum to put this together and keep it in the forum family.

    4ch mpeg4 dvr time change

DVR may be updating its time from a local PC, which itself may have the incorrect time. Also if you have NPT capability with the DVR you could sync it to an external time server such as the atomic clock

    Cabling question

Should just be able to run 2 CAT6, one for Ethernet/POE and the other for I/O

    Fiber: single or multimode?

Netgear has a 24 Port POE 10/1000 with GBIC Slots for fiber for around $700.00, GBIC's around $300.00

  12. Take a look at go1984, great software no per camera license. I can highly recommend it
  13. Something squiggly definitely going on, these problems can be a bear. You probably already know this but I would check a couple of things: history of problems with this controller, MOV's, Panel firmware, correct wiring and maybe physically dump the memory on the panel and restore. GOOD LUCK
  14. What kind of problems is it having, hardware/software. It looks like a Mercury access board to me, used by many manufacturers RS2Tech, Lenel etc.
  15. Some providers do not issue a 'real' static IP address, when the router is rebooted the IP gets released and a new one is given. This may be the problem

    Mounting to the grid

Nope! Too much drilling even if you wanted to use them. You definitely don't want to be drilling structural steel supports such as these. They make a whole series of beam clamps for every application. Learn how to use them and your life will be a lot easier. No drilling required, you go between the gaps of the beams. Trust me i've done it many times and is the quickest and cheapest solution

Advice needed for low light application

Try refocusing the cameras at night
  20. Please use a professional installer, this may cost a little more than your budget, but in the long run you will be better off. What do you do for a living? Would you trust a CCTV expert to do your job?

    PTZ Replacement compatibility issues

There are several PTZ 's that do up-the-coax control such as Pelco, Panasonic and Infinova. The coax could run straight to a controller and not even be run to the DVR, MPT9000 for example or through a coaxitron generating multiplexer.
  22. Just received six more Sanyo's , better check your suppliers
  23. Could transmit Ethernet over coax, see AK
