  1. Hi Micksgonefishin, It sounds like it could be a short somewhere inside the machine that could be causing your issue. Open up the machine and check to make sure that the wires plugged into the sound inputs on the motherboard are correct and pushed in all the way (sometimes machines have mic / speaker inputs on the front which need to be plugged into the motherboard - this is where you need to check). What is the wattage of the power supply?
