POE what do you guys use?
ak357 replied to Media's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
What i meant before is that I could not get full bandwith from swtch Example I had Arecont 2 and 3 Mp working no problem with this switch but at no more then about 60-70 % of max bandwith i connect through gigabit sw and got full bandwith then i tried another the same switch the same problem lots of company i notice do not measure bandwith but on another hand your Acti most likely do not need more then 10-15 Mbps -

it is ok switch but it will cut your bandwith by 30-40 % that why I stop using them -
Under the specs of a website selling Kodicon: "Remote view is available using web browser. Apache server is installed automatically with site software" This means if you have a lan cable running from the DVR to the router, log into the router and check the IP given to the hardware (DVR). Fire up a browser and throw the IP of the DVR in the address bar and you should be able to log in probably asking for credentials first. Hope this helps despite posting it months ago. Let me know if that worked so others validate the answer for future help! [security Hombre] Your info will help him to connect locally but he is asking about remote view

Why buy a 5MP Camera??
ak357 replied to SteveMyers's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
I've been Googling this for days... The comparison to a regular, consumer type camera doesn't work because those all come with matching lenses or, in the case of the ones with detachable lenses, matching lenses are available from many sources. quote] ok lets do this take 3MP Cam and do a shot let say 20 feet wide and 25 away from then do the same with 5MP then count how many pixels per linear foot u have and then think if its make sense for you Shall I keep going ?... no fun to give u answer That how I traine my salesman -
Why buy a 5MP Camera??
ak357 replied to SteveMyers's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Why buy 1MP or 3MP or 5MP or 10MP regular consumer type digital still camera ? answer this ? and the same logic apply to CCTV I will give you hint try Google -
100 % agree with Soundy What I done few times NTSC standard signal Gen in place of the camera and Oscilloscope at the DVR then u can have some data to play and analyse Since I use a portable DVD player as my field monitor, I made a DVD with various looped test signals - color bars, alignment grids, grey scales, etc. Don't need to use it very often, and I wouldn't really trust any of them for laboratory-grade signal analysis, but it's handy to carry around. It's easy to look at the player's screen to compare, too. Maybe I should look into a USB/software oscilloscope for my laptop Agree don't use very often my self good old days of service are gone (thanks god) i mean component level repair whole industry is for "dummies" plug and play I guess that why we like IP based, mega pix and etc..... By the way I can probably help you to get hand held NTSC Gen so u can use with USB based Scope
