low light or super low light IP security cameras
ak357 replied to cglaeser's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
I found a product spec on the net that indicated 0.01 lux, but the specs did not mention the shutter speed. Based on my experience with the 223M, I know how that game can be played (i.e. extremely long exposure time to achieve low lux value). Do you know the shutter speed of that 0.01 lux figure? Best, Christopher Arecont soft has those setting ------------------------------------------------------- High Speed enables the shortest exposure, selectable from a drop-down list “Short Exposure†-

I use a Minolta IV, but pretty much any photo light meter will do. You can find conversion tables on the net that will convert ISO/shutter/f-stop to EV to lux. Best, Christopher Thx I use extech it has foot-candles and lux scale -

I assume megapixel over analog would require the transmission system to pass higher frequencies. That is do-able with coax (but with reduced distance capabilities?) but I have not seen either active or passive CCTV utp converters that are capable of greater than, what, 5-6MHz? Analog megapixel's bandwidth requirements would be just as restrictive as IP's in many respects. It sounds to me like a solution in search of a problem! ------------------------------------------------------- I agree with your assumptions 100% video mpeg2 1.25 Mbit/s – VCD quality 5 Mbit/s – DVD quality 15 Mbit/s – HDTV quality 36 Mbit/s – HD DVD quality 54 Mbit/s – Blu-ray Disc quality high definition the bandwidth is 37 MHz (720p/1080i) or 74 MHz (1080p/60)
