What is the highest CCTV camera resolution?
ak357 replied to cctv_addicted's topic in Security Cameras
The CCD sensor can have any resolution. You can even have 1000 lines of resolution and subsample down. But per my above note, your limit in non-IP cameras, is that of NTSC modulation. That is the weakest link. And that is well below 420 lines. An IP camera on the other hand, is able to transmit resolution well above that since it is not bound by NTSC standard. However, in the process of compression, it adds non-linear distortion which can bring its effective resolution well below the sensor. Mda... all we need is Rory to join this topic -
My title is sales support. My job is to make things work. I don't sell to clients, I make sure what sales sells will work and what the customer intends will work. And if your contributions are going to be poorly thought out marketing nonsense, then yes, expect to get called on it. Thomas I am getting confuse, what did he say to make u think its "poorly thought out marketing nonsense" ? it looks to me he was trying to help poster Thx

It would be a field of view of ~ 125.7 ft by 94.3. A human being is generally 6 ft x 2 ft. So a person would take up less then .1% of that image. . You probably meant to say 1.6% 6 * 2 = 12 125.7 * 94.3 = 11853.51 12/11853.51= 0.00101 and change. Did I make a math error somewhere? Sorry Thomas u are taking whole area ratio I was taking only ratio for horisontal

ak357 replied to robert's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
I can`t get you one as I`m not located in Russia. I dont know how it works exactly there, but they don`t buy licenses, they come with camera. I assume every camera comes with one license. ok got it make sense otherwise they would hack anyway -

ak357 replied to robert's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Licenses are not free, they cost 50$ per camera. Older ver software let u use 1 cam for free rec incl In Russia for example software comes for free with camera I bought from US and I have to buy software separately. Can I get ru copy please "free with camera means 1 lic free or for all ? " -
