  1. Hi, neighbor I am in Edmonton Check your PM
  2. I use Netgear's FS728TP-100NAS all the time last time used for 70 Avigilon cameras (3 of them ) no problem at all Where are u in Canada ?
  3. +1 Avigilon and HIK camera = killer combo
  4. What is Analog camera ?
  5. Alex, are you trying to imply that Todd is Jesus? Surely the man has influence but... S I was sarcastic
  6. 1) I don't know about the frame rates because I have never done an 88 camera install. But with the proper hardware this should not be an issue. 2) I disagree about the Linux based nvr being more secure than windows. The reason is simply that the manufactures update firmware very rarely. A windows based machine updated regularly will be fine. 3) suzy the receptionist is not plugging her usb drive into the dedicated NVR server....there is a built in firewall and its on a separate network . Who cares about cameras every day thousands computer being hacked and use to launch attack all over the world
  7. +1 It's always amaze me who in right mind would open port direct to camera
  8. Separate subnet and Sw with port/Mac security will make u feel better
  9. And I do have few "tools" in toolbox I do sell HD-SDI all the time so far may be 30 sets are sold In my opinion for do it your self and very small commercial jobs for Enterprises solutions Only IP By the way have u ever "play" with Avigilon ?
  10. Are u related to Todd Rockoff ? I am sure u know who He is
  11. Sure u can few diodes,regulator,few resistors,caps,heat sink and u done
  12. You making big deal from nothing here is sw for you Netgear FS728TP100NAS ( managed ) you can get them way under $ 400 if customer think is too much money run

Mike its multicast He can do a lot

Spectra III and Spectra IV PTZ's

That is a major difference, IMO. All IV encoders and cameras can deliver multiple (up to 8, I believe) 30fps streams in any combination of TCP/IP, RDP or UDP Unicast and Multicast. Their servers don't normally have to redistribute the streams to clients due to this, except when they have to accommodate other manufacturers' single-stream-only capabilities. I agree and I understand Don't you think it's kinda funny that only IV use this architectures and all other "big boys" do not but on another hand your users have direct access to cameras What if user decide to "play" ,"attack" camera what will happened ?

Spectra III and Spectra IV PTZ's

Ok, Thx your limits and my kinda the same The only difference I have to take in account is traffic from cameras and out to Clients by the way How good is Data base structure in IV ?

Spectra III and Spectra IV PTZ's

We're connecting approximately 63 cameras per server with a mix of 2.5Mbps, 3.0Mbps and 3.5/5Mbps depending on camera application (3.5/5 is PTZs) so that works out to about 200Mbps per server. We also had to consider retention time versus storage so for the cameras we retain for 60 days we only have 13 cameras per server. MP cameras are set to stream at 4.0Mbps and their servers are handling around 47 cameras each. Thx again What would be your Max bandwidth limit per server ? and also You do not use IV Client at all because of Multicast right ? Do you use any type network monitoring software for servers and cameras?

How many servers to handle 67 cams ? what is total in/out bandwidth on average ? Thanks for info Carl

Which IP PTZ are you thinking to buy ? Thanks
  22. What you have is not a borescope pal, judging by your comments, it's more of an 'RECTOSCOPE' wouldn't you say? IF YOU TAKE MY MEANING.... Ok then new idea for you borescope + IP Encoder + IP Radio get it ?
