  1. What surprise me that u guys are surprised On given Hor field of view we have about 70 feet Camera capturing hor 2592 pix so 2592 :70=~37 pix/foot but Lic plate is under angle so u have even less pix per foot I am not even talking general poor images coming from camera (high compression, poor lenses) that another story Point is simple we need about 70-75 and more pix/foot for Lic plates
  2. Simple Camera streams is being recorded by what ever (nvr/nvs/dvr) outside connection only to Server (nvr/nvs/dvr) Never ever to camera direct Agree ?

  5. I guess to each their own In North America any decent IT person will NEVER let you open Ports for each camera That amateur way
  6. I never setup my customer with direct log in to cameras Always to "NVR" by web services or smart phone client to server It can be done via username/pass encoded RTSP URL stream. This is part of OnVif. (and, yes, can also be integrated with lots of NVR software, even opensource as zoneminder or motion) Also, it's an embedable stream via QuickTime. (actually, there are two of them) Still in my "books" leaving ports open for cameras is BIG No

  17. Usually DSS needs some good tech support for implementation; thus, he should rely on someone to help him at anytime, not to go and ask and maybe someone on a forum will answer - keeping the client waiting. I would not worry too much about "shropna" He works with pretty high end project all the time I am actually surprised He even ask ??? about "Dahua"

  19. That fair Seriously in " true" and not so true corporate environment any decent IT person will not want Cam traffic to be on the same subnet and with Avigilon it get even more simpler You do not have to have DHCP and Do Not have to to assign IP to camera just pure magic
