How about for example 1.3MP camera to ---->network SW to -------> couple hundred bucks comp-----> to HD Tv then your comp will play whatever u want and then you activate your HD cam..... whole project can be done for about $450-600 or less depend how fancy u want to be

And If They do list Recording resolution so what ? Did you see one CCTV DVR which can resolve every pixel ? I have seen and sold lots which will create 4CIF or D1 Size rectangular but None will give true D1 Quality
