  1. Hi folks, I have recently purchased a DVR from china company ( WINBO, website is www.winbodigital.com ). Am using dynamic IP ( not static IP) from my ISP provider. Hooked DVR to my router. Within the DVR menu have made following settings : DVR IP : 192.168.1.5 Gateway : 192.168.1.1 Subnet Mask : 255.255.255.0 DVR Port : 6802 IE Port : 6802 The Gateway, and Subnet Mask settings are the same for computers hooked to my LAN. In my router, I went to NAT option, and thereafter to Virtual Server Option. In there I gave the ports numbers 6802 and 8080 in two different rules , and both for IP 192.168.1.5 . I did this with understanding that I am allowing port forwarding on the router. These settings were saved correctly. For couple of days, I was able to view the DVR remotely through another laptop on different ISP connection, using the software provided by the seller ( software is CMS H.264 DVR ). But now something has happened , and each time I try to remotely view the DVR , it says that DVR is not online. This is strange, because DVR is linked to the same router, and I can see the LAN Port light "ON" on the router too, which shows that LAN port # 2 is connected ( have connected DVR to 2nd LAN port of my router ). Furthermore, I made myself a free DYNDNS account. Now if i give the DYNDNS URL in the browser, then setup page of my router opens, and not the DVR. Any idea ( or ideas ) what am I doing wrong ? Thanks in advance.
  2. Thanks I have done the Port Forwarding of 68002 and 8080 ports in my modem+router. But still its not working. Please note that i am not using static IP, rather its dynamic IP. I have made a free account in dyndns , but whenever I use this it takes me to the Setup page of my modem, and does not takes me to the DVR.
  3. Hi, I have assembled myself a PC based DVR system, based on a generic chineese DVR card and 4 web cams. This card uses software named QX2006 . After about 5 months of use, I am still unsatisfied with the performance. Issue being PC-Hang, Windows gets corruputed, etc etc. No matter from which source I try to get the QX2006 its always full of virus. Now I have decided to change my DVR card / sofware. I will be using my existing cameras. I am now looking for a medium price range DVR card + Software, to handle upto 8 security web-cams. The O/S of my pc would be Windows XP. I would like to store data for 10 to 14 days, and for this I can install the required harddisk into my PC. Please advise any medium quality to good brands for DVR card + softwares. The work place where its to be installed is a gas filling station. The PC and cams will be "ON" 22/7/365. Thanks in advance for your assistance and suggestions. Regards. Omar
  4. I bought a unbranded DVR card from a sale for installation on my PC. The drivers CD which came along with the card, have lots of viruses in it, and for this reason, my system software crashes after 2 to 3 days. Is there any link from where I can download a clean and working copy of QX2006 ? Thanks
  5. Hi, I am toally a newbie in survelliance cams. Anyhow my simple setup is as under : a. One dedicated P4 based computer, having a generic DVR-8 channels card. The supplier has informed me that this card enables me to remotely view the cams from any other location as well. b. My PC is linked directly to a ADSL modem. No other computer / item is attached. c. Four simple security cams are linked to the PCI card in the PC. d. With my DV Card came QX2006 software. I have installed it, and I am able to view all four cams on my PC monitor. e. I am now trying to broadcast this stream, so I can view the cams remotely from another place as well. f. I checked my IP through website ( whatismyip.com ), and it told me it is 119.182.42.65 . g. In the Settings window of QX2006, I have input the above IP( 119.182.42.65 ) in a box named Web IP. h. Now whenver, I write the above IP address followed by port number in my browser, nothing gets displayed ( http://119.182.42.65:5050 ) . i. If I just write the IP in the browser ( http://119.182.42.65 ), then the Setup window of my ADSL modem is opened. Please advise, me how to start configuring my setup, OR if there is some document available any place else, please let me know its URL . The setup guide of QX2006 is totally silent. Thanks GASOLINA
