  1. Hi First, I am no tech and can not offer you much. I have had the same problem with a ptz when I tried to operate the cam with the DVR based software. But...when I used the joystick, the cam would turn slow but lose video. I changed the power supply to one with more juice and my problems went away. Could be I just got lucky. Good Luck
  2. I am new to the whole cam thing. I have 3 digital watchdog cams now and I will be adding more a little at a time. I have 1 dome, v1363 TIR. 1 bullet b1363TIR, and their mini ptz. I have looked at quite a few cams since I started building this system. In my opinion, digital watchdog is hard to beat. Backed for 5 years, Cams are quality and the price is unbeatable.

    ptz looses video

I am not 100% sure. I think the arms security box is rated at 4 watts. I will call where I bought them to find out. The cam is duel voltage, Should I try a 24vac power supply with a higher watt. What does it usually take to power a ptz with a heater and fan. The book says the cams rated power is AC 24v(23w) / DC 12v(26w).

    ptz looses video

they are 12 volt arms boxes. I am almost sure they are regulated.
  5. I have just installed a new digital watchdog ptz, along with a new digital watchdog dvr. When I pan, the camera looses video most of the time. Then when I stop the camera has to focus and I regain video. This is my first time installing a ptz. The camera sets 75 ft from the power supply, I have powered the cam with 18/2, and I am using cat5 for the rs485. I have tried a different power supply with the same results. Any ideas. ps I am new the the site and want to say hello, and thank you in advance for any help.
