  1. Hi guys, please help me find a suitable 8x PAL cameras that i can install all around the house on the location i marked in red all i want is to get a good quality image for 25ft-30ft ahead (just to get the entire back and from yard front entrance and car parking) they should be night & day so i guess i have to go with the waterproof bullet IR model. Due to the fact the BNC cable are already in place i can't go DIGITAL so i thought maybe CNB can have some good quality ones for my needs. anything you guys are familiar with from this page: http://www.cnbtec.com/en/html/product/product_list.php?maxx=1&midx=6 As i mentioned the cable are analog BNC embedded with DC and the DVR i was offered is the following: http://www.mencomputers.com/action4u/uploads/file/products485_supportUrl.pdf Please try to guide me through, if i missed anything just let me know when it is and i'll come up with the information needed. Thx in advance. Omer
  2. Hi, i have looked at the model you told me, i'd like to know if placing 2x dome\bullet cameras like in the picture bellow is a wrong concept and only a single camera would do the work. Just to make it clear, it's not that im obligated for 8x camera configuration, it's just that i got an offer from someone to wire the house in 8x camera and thats what i have installed. if you guys will tell me that 4x camera config can be surely enough for 360 degrees cover i wont buy more that what i really need. Another thing is that the all camera will be installed around 10ft high so i assume that the angle won't be wide comparing to a higher installation. looking forward to hear from you...
  3. Dear friends, first i want to thank you for your time and for trying to help me on this matter. I live in israel it's almost 365 days of sunny days so i need the cameras to know how to handle the bright sun beams. i thought of placing 2x cameras on each side of the house and each one will be set to give around 45 degrees so all together will give me a 360 degrees around the house, i know that the average lens 3.6 sees around 160 degrees angle but i already have the wires installed for 8 camera so im going with the 8x camera configuration. the dvr system that i linked is what i got from a guy that sells them in israel, he said that its an average system that will work without spending too much money. it's not that we are trying to save but this is the kind of system people are installing around here, i wont see a house in the area that has camera from CNB, ACTI MOBOTIX etc... most of the systems are Chinese from the lower end. As from me, i'd like to get something from a well know company like CNB just need your help on the technical side of what camera to get. any help will be highly appreciated. omer
  4. Hey guys, next week i'll be flying to CA, and i'll stay in LA for 2 weeks after that 2 more weeks in San jose. Can you recommend at least one professional store i can visit over these locations. I'd like see and to purchase some equipment, like NVR, DVR system and some good quality camera from one of these brands ACTi, Vivotek, Mobotix, Axis, IQeye. The main purposes is to get a full system to my uncle houses on both location... I'll be on vacation so i can spend some time browsing a few good stores, and i'd like to see some actual system demos. Appreciate you help! Omer
  5. i'll try to send a few emails to some camera companies and see if anyone has a dealer in CA. i thought i could find a few decent cctv stores in Cali, but that's fine... Thx for the info my friend.
  6. I will have to stick with win7 since i got a genuine copy and once you go win7 you can't go back( ok i speak for my self) I will try to get some more ram, the mother board is Asus P4PE and support up to 4GB of RAM. I will disable the audio one BIOS as well and will see if i'll still get those Audio folder fill up with *.wav files... I'll keep you updated! Take care guys !
  7. Hey guys, is it possible to turn off audio recording on the GV-800 with v8.3.4.0 my HD is 320GB and i see that at least 10% of it is audio recodings, the funny thing is that i dont record audio at all, can i just disable audio recording to save up HD space ? i tryed to google for it and to brwose the software features but couldn't find it. please help, thx again... omer
  8. Dear friend, thx for braking it down for me, now i fully understand. Have a wonderful weekend !!! omer
  9. hey friends, my current configuration includes DVR PC connected to my lan via WRT54G linksys router, the OS is WIN7. On my pc i have a GEOVISION v8.3.4.0 Software and GEOVISION GV-800 BNC CARD. At the moment i'm using 4x analog cameras and everything works well. I'm interested in purchasing an IP camera in the next few days, i guess it would be the ACTi, ACM-1231. My question is, in order to use the POE camera feature, is it OK if i will add the following WAPPOE12 (Linksys POE Injector) and use it like in the diagram bellow ? Has anyone is using this configuration or similar? Will it work or i'm forgetting something, i don't want to make mistakes.... Thx for all your help so far. Omer
  10. Can you please make it more simple for me, i didn't understand your explanation... The camera uses 12V so if i have a48V injector output with 400mA the camera takes only when it needs ?
  11. Hi, my DVR PC has very low spec: Intel P4 2.4Ghz ATI Radeon 9600 128MB 1.5Gb of RAM 320GB 7200RPM Hard Drive Win 7 32Bit. PCI Geovision GV-800 16CH with V8.3.4.0 Iphone 3GS with the I-View software 4x Analog no name Cameras and hopefully very soon, ACM-1321 with POE injector.... So from what i see the audio will continue to be added due to the fact there is no way to disable it? I'm assuming that 90% don't use audio recording so everyone suffers from that amount of *.wav files on there systems, the thing is that i don't have any mic on my cameras so what exactly does it record?
  12. That 3Com unit look sweet, but do you think that 48V DC, 400 mA out will be enough for powering the ACM-1231 ? How much mA the camera really needs?
  13. Just received that email from the seller on eBay, he uses the following POE injector to power up the ACM-1321 That He is also selling on the same auction. maybe i'll go with that one what do you say guys? It's only one unit comparing to the linksys product and cost about $30 on eBay.
  14. Hey Rory, the geo version is the latest 8.3.4.0. i lowered the levels for all 4CH, don't use any mic attached to the audio port and still get this large *.wav files. I might try to disable the audio on the entire DVR PC from device manager, maybe it will work.... i'll keep updating. thx.
  15. I'll check it right away, again appreciate your response!
  16. Hi soundy, you are powering your IQ511 with one of these what ?
  17. Hi Rory, thx for your replay, please let me know if that is the place that you have mentioned that's the only place i could find, and btw if that's the right place it was already checked out for all 4CH and still i get so many "event734057304.wav" on the audio folders that consumes a lot of space... thx
  18. If you guys tried the linksys injector i specified and it can power up a single ACM1321 camera that is all i need. i will go ahead and get it, and of course will use only the injector unit. If you can recommend another POE injector model that will work that can help cause it look that i'm buying a product and use only half of it, i don't care but if there is an injector only out there i would be happy to know the brand. just for the info, i saw an eBay auction for the ACM-1321 and the seller adds a POE injector to the auction, he says the is sells it as a kit, i hope he will answer my Q asking what brand is the injector.... i'll keep you update ! Greetings !
  19. I love you guys, thx for all you detailed replies. The acm-1321 is the only ip camera i will have on my gv-800 system the total camera distance from the base PC and linksys router will be 30ft. i thought that powering the ACM with the POE feature could be nice and i need just the unit that will power it up, do you think that the 48v/400ma linksys output will be enough for it cause i have less powerful camera that it says 800ma consumption on it. thx again and i'll keep updating. Best regards! omer
  20. That sounds great! thx, ill keep you guys update with this... omer
  21. Hi, Just to make it clear, the base unit in the diagram is the unit on the left side, called injector which means one side go's to the camera, and the other side go to the AC to enable POE and also to my LAN (AP). Btw, anyone out there uses something like this as well ?, the truth is that i don't really like Linksys due to the mid range quality of there products line... Is there any better suggestion for a POE injector that will get my ACM-1321 to work properly? I know that the POE injector output is 12V but is it enough, shouldn't i pay attention to the mA output, i'm sure that the ACM-1321 needs at least 1000mA adapter, am i right ? Thx guys !
  22. Hey, i see what i did, but with the configuration on the diagram i looks that the AP is getting power from the splitter but also power is transmitted to the injector that provides power to the camera. please correct me if im wrong. for my situation, the AP is already powered up by it's own AC so maybe i dont need it at all and i can just use the injector, that's what you said ? can i use another POE device, or this one will work with the ACM-1321 camera. the reason i need the POE feature is that the place im mounting the camera is outside the window and there is no power on this location (outside the building) thx!
  23. Hi bpzle, i see on acti site that there are 2 models with the same part number but one description as: H.264 Megapixel IP Box/Bullet Camera and the other:Megapixel IP Box/Bullet Camera both are ACM-1321 what do you have in stock, and what is the different ? btw i see that there is an ACM-1232 is this another model with different spec ? thx for the offer, do you accept paypal ? omer
  24. Hey guys, i need some help with my camera, ok so i bought 10x cameras to work with my GV-800 card. here are the models: my problem is that after i mounted the SF-3033k 3.6mm camera outside my window to view my motorcycle the picture that im getting on my PC and on my recordings are awful 24 hours, yesterday the lady with the Subaru hit my bike when trying to park her car, i was in shock seeing this on my records but im unable to catch the license plate due to the bad quality of the movies. The dome cameras i mounted inside the house is also pretty bad cause it seams that the living room camera IR feature always working, only when the lights are 100% ON i can see that the IR is off, which gives me the following image: CAMERA: CVC-3030 3.6mm All cameras was purchased from this website: [mod edit store removed] Please help me, to understand why the quality is so bad and if it is because the camera, what camera do you think can do a god job with my GV-800 in order to view a clear image of my bike and a plate number in case it happens again. Any help will be highly appreciated.
