Yeah thats what i was initially thinking too, but he will have a max of 40 cameras. So he would need to get 3 DVR's. I guess if that is cool with him, then it could be done.

Hi Tom, Does the CM3000 stream out. Or can you remote view into it like a DVR. He wants to remote view into the central mamangement software
-
Patterns are normally saved to your PTZ, not the DVR.
-
i dont know, dont have an iphone, sorry I cant help you on there. But once he steps outside of the router range, 3g should kick in.
-
He is using the wifi connection instead of the 3g connection. He needs to use the 3g connection

How many total channels would you need on the NVR server central station? That is totally recommended
-
Makes sense now. Yes just like previous posters said, this would be easier with IP systems. The problems you will find having an analog CMS software is: #1) You have to have all of the same brand DVR's in order for them to connect to the CMS. #2) There are not many CMS softwares for analog DVR's that I know of that will allow remote viewing into the CMS software. You could have people use a service such as "logmein" to get into the server computer but thats kind of a ghetto way to do it. Not even sure how those services work with simultaneous logins. Another way you could do it is if the manufacturer of your DVR's also manufacturer NVR's. In this case, they may have an option to connect to channels of remote DVR's. this would allow you to have a "Sub DVR" in essence. But like I said, they usually have to be made by the same manufacturer for this to happen. In short, if all of your DVR's are not the same brand, you will have a hard time achieving what you want to achieve.

I wish you could connect to DSS like you can with a DVR, but you cant. If it did have that capability, it would be a nice IP camera server as well.
-
Why wouldn't you just have the viewers connect to the DVR directly as opposed to the "Central Station"? The "central station" aspect that you speak of is mainly just for the viewer who wants to view multiple DVR's from different locations, but there would be no need to "re-output" a stream to a remote viewer and it would make more sense for the remote viewers to connect to the DVR instead. But if you have objections to this, I am wondering why?

Yeah I hear ya. We focus alot on SEO on our main site, but not so much on the instructional site, but thats where I should probably focus alot more on because we have so much content on it.

Anti-Dither is a delay setting for motion detection that will make your DVR keep detecting motion after a motion event has ended. Basically, if your DVR detects motion and after the motion detection has ended, and you have your Anti-Dither set at 10 (seconds), the DVR will still consider that it has motion and will continue to record 10 seconds after the motion event has ended. Its kind of a fail safe in case an object leaves the field of view and enters back into just a few seconds later. In firmware 2.606, you could set the Anti-Dither to 0, but in the new 2.608 firmware, it is defaulted at 5. Delay is just another setting that is extremely similar to Anti-Dither, but basically delay will continue to record after the red motion symbol goes off the screen. So basically, if your Anti Dither is set to 5 and your delay is set to 10, you will have a total of 15 seconds of recording after a motion event has ended. Latch has to do with alarm outputs and tells the DVR to turn off the alarm output after an even has ended.

Thanks. Will do. I'll have my "internet employee" get that stuff adjusted.

When you say 100 yards, do you want to pick up facial features, license plates, etc? If so, that is going to be difficult to achieve to be honest. First off you will need a hawg of a lens. Secondly you will need that lens zoomed in so much that you will not be able to capture much else other than whats in that narrow view. If you are wanting to capture more of a wide shot, it can be done, but if its real particular details you need as described above, I dont even think our 100mm lenses would do it at that distance. Your only other option would be to move up to a IP Megapixel camera which would cost you an arm and a leg, but you could probably achieve what you wanted with a nice lens. Your other camera, would you consider that a "regular view" camera? If so, that VCM-24VF that soundy mentioned is a good all purpose dome camera and very popular among members here.

Wiggle your connectors to see if it clears it up while wiggling.

There are smaller housings out there but once you stick that big lens on there you will find you will need most of the housing. The fan question gets asked alot: the main purpose is to blow the fog off the window during certain times of humidification. With that being said, there are some very tiny vent holes on the bottom back side of the housing in which would allow "some" air flow to come in but not much but should slightly help with venting the housing. That is a very popular housing design. That Dahua housing you have is the same exact design that GVI had with their housings. Those types of housings were used in the "Worlds largest retailers" systems for years, we have literally sold thousands of the used GVI housings that we got from them over the past 2 years, you can still see them up on the tops of their stores today. Be sure to use the wire weather grommet that came with the housing, otherwise, you will have a nice cozy wasp nest waiting to happen. -

help setting up remote Dmss android

When I did that video, gDMSS was free. Unfortunately it isnt anymore, but I do have the APK file that you can download on your phone if you want to do that. Please shoot me an email with your order information and I can send it over. There is a new one out, gDMSS plus, it also costs money, but it is worth it. Very nice app and has playback. -
Aver hybrid nano question
SEANHAWG replied to Zohan's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
It will depend on the camera and what mode its in. Normally, if you have all of the same IP cameras and they are not in DHCP, they will likely all come with the same IP address, in which you will need to adjust the IP settings. -

Define programmed? Do you mean like picture settings and stuff? If so, yeah you will probably want to do that, but you will probably need to adjust the pic settings on IE to do that. Another thing is you may want to change your IP cameras out of DHCP mode once they conform to the network, that is if they come in DHCP mode already. -
I think all DVR's would have to do some sort of de-interlacing in order to get a recognizable image

SEANHAWG replied to rkninc's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Do you want software or will a Standalone NVR do? If only 4 cameras, you can get a good little 4 channel NVR for real cheap but only supports up to 1.3 MP on channels 2-3 and up to 5 MP on channel 1.
