apollo hd dvr connecting to hd tv no picture
SEANHAWG replied to crow's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
The DVR's output is probably too high for your Monitor. You will need to get in the DVR's menu and lower the resolution. The only way you will be able to do that is to temporarily hook up an RCA cable from the DVR's BNC output to your TV's RCA input. Warning: Since the resolution is so high, the words are going to appear very small when hooked up with BNC out. You need to go into the DVR Main Manu>Settings>Monitor> Adjust resolution to 720p and then hook your HDMI back up and you should be good to go. -

Yeah but encoders are considered an IP camera when it comes to licensing so you will have to pay a license fee per encoder. Some encoders have 4 ports on them, allowing you to only pay one licensing fee for four analog cameras. -
Embed AXIS M3114 Network Camera
SEANHAWG replied to wadio87's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
Probably, if it has an RTSP stream, you can use VLC media player to embed it onto your website. You have to have a computer running as a server running VLC running as the RTSP server. Ask Rory on here for details, he has done it. -
You have to adjust the camera to be in DHCP mode. See if you can do that with the software you used to find the camera. You really need to use the cameras utility tool. It usually comes with the camera on a CD or something like that.

A good effio camera should have one of those joysticks on the cable camera end anyways. Or atleast some buttons on the camera to adjust it. There would be no way to use this cable at the DVR end unless you have RS-485 connections on the camera end. Some have both buttons on the camera/cable as well as RS-485 connections.

Do/Would you display a Video Security sign?

Yeah, drop the pride and get the H.E. double hockey sticks out of there. Especially if you have loved ones that live with you. Not only would you be doing you a favor, but also the loved ones you live with. -
Yeah just like everyone else said, it all depends on the application, but I would say that the majority of users simply zoom their vari-focal lenses all the way out to capture the widest view, if this is true for you, then it may make more sense to save a little money and get a fixed lens. If you are not sure, then get a vari-focal.

It will not see in pitch black or real dark areas. Although its pretty good in low light it wont see in the dark. You will need external illuminators if you want to see as good as IR To block out IR during the day to get more true colors. And to let it in at night to get optimal nighttime picture quality and/or to use with external IR's.

I got a load of PTZ's in and I need to get them all tested. I have never dealt with PTZ's before so this was quite an experience for me. I got some sweet Costar Fasttrax high speed domes. Much to my amazement, I got one working with a honeywell DVR that I had. My only problem is that I cannot access the cameras On-Screen Display with the honeywell DVR. Is this a common problem with controlling a PTZ with a DVR? or does this just sound specific to this scenario. I need to access this to I can configure the cameras settings more. I would like to get a PTZ controller to test all of these but I am concerned that I would have the same problem by not being able to access the menu. What do you think?

Thats tuff to find right there

Does you IP camera come with an IP Camera Utility tool in which it would pick up the IP of the camera regardless if its on the same Gateway as your router. i am wondering if the NVR software is not picking it up because it may not be on the same Gateway as your router. You may have to discover it with the camera utility tool and then change the Gateway to match your router. Or change the camera to DHCP and then it would automatically match up to your gateway.

similar but not the same

Your a smart man Please post MSRP of all Avigilon products on this thread for more advertising.

All they have to do is sell 200 16MP cameras and they are good.

Worse comes to worse, we will start seeing licenses being sold at Costco. I'm sorry, I'll stop now. Having too much fun. Sorry.

Aver hybrid dvr question
SEANHAWG replied to Zohan's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
It appears it will support that resolution in all 3 codec formats, correct me if I am wrong time. Wow, this was my only gripe about this system, I am glad that they allow higher resolution now. Guess I need to stay up to date on this stuff more. I got a bunch of these setting on the shelf, I guess its time that we start learning these and making a guide page on them too. Ive said it before, I'll say it again. You Da Man Tom! -
Aver hybrid dvr question
SEANHAWG replied to Zohan's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Oh Wow, this is good news, I was not even aware. Can they support 5 MP on H.264 or does it have to be MJPEG? I will update my Aver when I get back to the office and see what I can get to happen. Is this increase in Megapixel resolution support fixed by simple firmware upgrade? -

Hi Tom, I think the USA version is different than the UK: http://www.averusa.com/surveillance/download/products/EH1004HDataSheet.pdf "Up to 2MP in MJPEG" We have some here and it will only allow 1.3mp for h.264 on all channels but on channel 1 is the only channel which you can raise your resolution to 2.3 mp and it has to be MJPEG. I have a few 3MP cameras and the Nano wont pick up anything after 2MP when I increase the resolution, the connection gets lost. I really wish it would allow up to 5MP though for the lower MP cameras its a great little recorder. I think they use totally different boards for the USA than the UK. -

I think the USA Nano is Max 2.3 MP on channel 1 and it has to be MJPEG if you want 2.3MP. All other channels are 1.3MP regardless of Codec
