Yeah but not all of the cameras have the inputs on the controller.

Most cameras you have to go to the camera to adjust the settings, although some cameras have RS-485 connections (AKA PTZ Hook-Ups) that allow you to configure the settings remotely. I think most of your cameras require it to be done right at the camera.

Anyone know of a DVR that supports URL static image
SEANHAWG replied to mpovolo's topic in Digital Video Recorders
You could set up the images to be sent via an FTP account. Are you looking for the images to be stored somewhere? -
Yes u sure can. U can view over the local network just fine without ever going on the internet.

Hi Dale, What city are you in? Our warehouses are located in Claremore.

You can pick up some seagate barracudas for a decent price still, although higher than normal, but sill affordable.

Not a huge difference by any means but the Apollo has a better quality video encoder which makes for a more crisp, less compressed recording and a little better color reproduction.

That takes Jimmy Riggin to a whole nother level

Can you advise a balun? Baluns, Connectors or the Cold
SEANHAWG replied to PaulsonLaw's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
I dont think that is the case. Have you inserted that flash drive into the laptop to see what the video looks like. If it looks good, then what is happening is you are recording on your main stream but you are probably viewing on your sub-stream over the network which is a lesser video quality than your main stream. Perhaps your main stream is at D1 and your substream is at CIF. -

If I were to do a comparison, I would bring a laptop to where you can login into dvr and get a bigger view. And you probably have more robust viewing options this way too. -

I would bet that it looks like crap on your monitor because of the monitor or the DVR sending a bad signal to your monitor or your monitor is not any good (try hooking the VGA up or HDMI to your monitor to see if you get better results). Since the ghosting and rainbows go away on the laptop but it looks pixelized, that just means you are viewing the encoded video and you are possibly just not recording in D1 or what is probably more the cause, the DVR just isnt encoding the video that well. Do you see this pixelized video at night time or day time, the pixelized look gets enhanced at night time because of the noiseyness but it shouldnt be too pixelized during the daytime. Which DVR are you using? Basically I dont think the problem lies within your Balun/Adapters to your cameras. But if you are using a Balun/Adapter from your DVR to your monitor, that could be the problem. -

It would depend on the system you are trying to connect to. Most DVR's/NVR's/IP Cameras use their own proprietary cell phone app. But you can try an app called IPCamViewer that has support for various brands. -
Well I'll be dog-gonned. I learn something new every day.

You can try to call up the menu by calling up preset 95

About 50 posts ago, there was a mention of some connectors that looked to be just adapters and not Baluns. Isnt that what a passive balun really is? Just a glorified adapter? Or is there something else that makes it a "real" Balun.

Post some various pictures of the CNB if you get a chance.

Yeah, it is a feature in the cameras with the Effio chips. It seems to increase noise in nightime pictures where the only light source is the infrared but it can sometimes improve the picture during daylight hours or areas that are lit up well at night.

NEW MEMBER WHO PURCHASED NO NAME SECURITY DVR
SEANHAWG replied to PANTHERGRAFIX's topic in Introductions
Just seen this post. Thanks for the recommend Soundy. It sounds like your DVR may be shot. If it has hard drive in it, remove the hard drive and see if it boots up. If still nothing, I think your DVR is gone Kaput. Qvis line of DVR's have been a big hit. -
Dumb I know, but would a Wii power supply work ok? 12v 3.2a

You could possibly fry a camera with that voltage -

I would also check to see if there are any objects directly right around the camera that would be causing reflection. -

PTZ'S are one of those things you dont want to get a ghetto brand on.

Maybe this is just one of those jobs where it would be easier to use siamese with seperate wires. Or use something like this: It seems that every week someone is having problems with cat5 installations. Not saying that its an inferior way of doing things at all, but maybe for one time installers who are not proficient with these things, it would be a better option to use siamese.
